‘ Now get up and stand on your feet. I have appeared to you to appoint you as a servant and as a witness of what you have seen and will see of me.

When Paul had greeted them, he began to explain in detail what God had done among the Gentiles through his ministry.

It is necessary to go on boasting. Though it is not profitable, I will go on to visions and revelations from the Lord.I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago( whether in the body or out of the body I do not know, God knows) was caught up to the third heaven.And I know that this man( whether in the body or apart from the body I do not know, God knows)was caught up into paradise and heard things too sacred to be put into words, things that a person is not permitted to speak.On behalf of such an individual I will boast, but on my own behalf I will not boast, except about my weaknesses.For even if I wish to boast, I will not be a fool, for I would be telling the truth, but I refrain from this so that no one may regard me beyond what he sees in me or what he hears from me,even because of the extraordinary character of the revelations. Therefore, so that I would not become arrogant, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to trouble me– so that I would not become arrogant.

So I asked,‘ What should I do, Lord?’ The Lord said to me,‘ Get up and go to Damascus; there you will be told about everything that you have been designated to do.’

By pointing out such things to the brothers and sisters, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, having nourished yourself on the words of the faith and of the good teaching that you have followed.

But the Lord said to him,“ Go, because this man is my chosen instrument to carry my name before Gentiles and kings and the people of Israel.For I will show him how much he must suffer for the sake of my name.”

I became a servant of this gospel according to the gift of God’s grace that was given to me by the exercise of his power.To me– less than the least of all the saints– this grace was given, to proclaim to the Gentiles the unfathomable riches of Christ

Therefore, since we have this ministry, just as God has shown us mercy, we do not become discouraged.

But stand up and enter the city and you will be told what you must do.”( Now the men who were traveling with him stood there speechless, because they heard the voice but saw no one.)So Saul got up from the ground, but although his eyes were open, he could see nothing. Leading him by the hand, his companions brought him into Damascus.For three days he could not see, and he neither ate nor drank anything.

You, however, be self- controlled in all things, endure hardship, do an evangelist’s work, fulfill your ministry.

The following night the Lord stood near Paul and said,“ Have courage, for just as you have testified about me in Jerusalem, so you must also testify in Rome.”

For I did not receive it or learn it from any human source; instead I received it by a revelation of Jesus Christ.

For last night an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I serve came to meand said,‘ Do not be afraid, Paul! You must stand before Caesar, and God has graciously granted you the safety of all who are sailing with you.’

if indeed you remain in the faith, established and firm, without shifting from the hope of the gospel that you heard. This gospel has also been preached in all creation under heaven, and I, Paul, have become its servant.

When I returned to Jerusalem and was praying in the temple, I fell into a tranceand saw the Lord saying to me,‘ Hurry and get out of Jerusalem quickly, because they will not accept your testimony about me.’I replied,‘ Lord, they themselves know that I imprisoned and beat those in the various synagogues who believed in you.And when the blood of your witness Stephen was shed, I myself was standing nearby, approving, and guarding the cloaks of those who were killing him.’Then he said to me,‘ Go, because I will send you far away to the Gentiles.’”

And all these things are from God who reconciled us to himself through Christ, and who has given us the ministry of reconciliation.

The Lord said to Paul by a vision in the night,“ Do not be afraid, but speak and do not be silent,because I am with you, and no one will assault you to harm you, because I have many people in this city.”

You learned the gospel from Epaphras, our dear fellow slave– a faithful minister of Christ on our behalf–

to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles. I serve the gospel of God like a priest, so that the Gentiles may become an acceptable offering, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.

Through him we have received grace and our apostleship to bring about the obedience of faith among all the Gentiles on behalf of his name.

I became a servant of the church according to the stewardship from God– given to me for you– in order to complete the word of God,

We sent Timothy, our brother and fellow worker for God in the gospel of Christ, to strengthen you and encourage you about your faith,

I am grateful to the one who has strengthened me, Christ Jesus our Lord, because he considered me faithful in putting me into ministry,

But I do not consider my life worth anything to myself, so that I may finish my task and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the good news of God’s grace.

I went there because of a revelation and presented to them the gospel that I preach among the Gentiles. But I did so only in a private meeting with the influential people, to make sure that I was not running– or had not run– in vain.

Now there were these prophets and teachers in the church at Antioch: Barnabas, Simeon called Niger, Lucius the Cyrenian, Manaen( a close friend of Herod the tetrarch from childhood) and Saul.While they were serving the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said,“ Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.”Then, after they had fasted and prayed and placed their hands on them, they sent them off.So Barnabas and Saul, sent out by the Holy Spirit, went down to Seleucia, and from there they sailed to Cyprus.

for he was counted as one of us and received a share in this ministry.”

to assume the task of this service and apostleship from which Judas turned aside to go to his own place.”

But we will devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the word.”
