‘ Now get up and stand on your feet. I have appeared to you to appoint you as a servant and as a witness of what you have seen and will see of me.

I must needs glory, though it is not expedient; but I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord.I know a man in Christ, fourteen years ago( whether in the body, I know not; or whether out of the body, I know not; God knoweth), such a one caught up even to the third heaven.And I know such a man( whether in the body, or apart from the body, I know not; God knoweth),how that he was caught up into Paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter.On behalf of such a one will I glory: but on mine own behalf I will not glory, save in my weaknesses.For if I should desire to glory, I shall not be foolish; for I shall speak the truth: but I forbear, lest any man should account of me above that which he seeth me to be, or heareth from me.And by reason of the exceeding greatness of the revelations, that I should not be exalted overmuch, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, that I should not be exalted overmuch.

And I said, What shall I do, Lord? And the Lord said unto me, Arise, and go into Damascus; and there it shall be told thee of all things which are appointed for thee to do.

If thou put the brethren in mind of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Christ Jesus, nourished in the words of the faith, and of the good doctrine which thou hast followed until now:

Therefore seeing we have this ministry, even as we obtained mercy, we faint not:

But be thou sober in all things, suffer hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfil thy ministry.

And the night following the Lord stood by him, and said, Be of good cheer: for as thou hast testified concerning me at Jerusalem, so must thou bear witness also at Rome.

For neither did I receive it from man, nor was I taught it, but it came to me through revelation of Jesus Christ.

For there stood by me this night an angel of the God whose I am, whom also I serve,saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must stand before Cæsar: and lo, God hath granted thee all them that sail with thee.

if so be that ye continue in the faith, grounded and stedfast, and not moved away from the hope of the gospel which ye heard, which was preached in all creation under heaven; whereof I Paul was made a minister.

And it came to pass, that, when I had returned to Jerusalem, and while I prayed in the temple, I fell into a trance,and saw him saying unto me, Make haste, and get thee quickly out of Jerusalem; because they will not receive of thee testimony concerning me.And I said, Lord, they themselves know that I imprisoned and beat in every synagogue them that believed on thee:and when the blood of Stephen thy witness was shed, I also was standing by, and consenting, and keeping the garments of them that slew him.And he said unto me, Depart: for I will send thee forth far hence unto the Gentiles.

But all things are of God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ, and gave unto us the ministry of reconciliation;

And the Lord said unto Paul in the night by a vision, Be not afraid, but speak and hold not thy peace:for I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to harm thee: for I have much people in this city.

even as ye learned of Epaphras our beloved fellow- servant, who is a faithful minister of Christ on our behalf,

that I should be a minister of Christ Jesus unto the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be made acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Spirit.

through whom we received grace and apostleship, unto obedience of faith among all the nations, for his name’s sake;

whereof I was made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which was given me to you- ward, to fulfil the word of God,

and sent Timothy, our brother and God’s minister in the gospel of Christ, to establish you, and to comfort you concerning your faith;

I thank him that enabled me, even Christ Jesus our Lord, for that he counted me faithful, appointing me to his service;

But I hold not my life of any account as dear unto myself, so that I may accomplish my course, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.

And I went up by revelation; and I laid before them the gospel which I preach among the Gentiles but privately before them who were of repute, lest by any means I should be running, or had run, in vain.

Now there were at Antioch, in the church that was there, prophets and teachers, Barnabas, and Symeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen the foster- brother of Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.And as they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.Then, when they had fasted and prayed and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.So they, being sent forth by the Holy Spirit, went down to Seleucia; and from thence they sailed to Cyprus.

For he was numbered among us, and received his portion in this ministry.

to take the place in this ministry and apostleship from which Judas fell away, that he might go to his own place.

But we will continue stedfastly in prayer, and in the ministry of the word.
