After Festus had conferred with his council, he declared:“ You have appealed to Caesar. To Caesar you will go!”

Festus talked it over with the members of his court. Then he said,“ You have made an appeal to Caesar. To Caesar you will go!”

Then Festus, when he had conferred with his council, answered,“ To Caesar you have appealed; to Caesar you shall go.”

Festus conferred with his advisers and then replied,“ Very well! You have appealed to Caesar, and to Caesar you will go!”

who announces the end from the beginning and reveals beforehand what has not yet occurred, who says,‘ My plan will be realized, I will accomplish what I desire,’who summons an eagle from the east, from a distant land, one who carries out my plan. Yes, I have decreed, yes, I will bring it to pass; I have formulated a plan, yes, I will carry it out.

The following night the Lord stood near Paul and said,“ Have courage, for just as you have testified about me in Jerusalem, so you must also testify in Rome.”

All the inhabitants of the earth are regarded as nothing. He does as he wishes with the army of heaven and with those who inhabit the earth. No one slaps his hand and says to him,‘ What have you done?’

Now after all these things had taken place, Paul resolved to go to Jerusalem, passing through Macedonia and Achaia. He said,“ After I have been there, I must also see Rome.”

I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that my situation has actually turned out to advance the gospel:The whole imperial guard and everyone else knows that I am in prison for the sake of Christ,and most of the brothers and sisters, having confidence in the Lord because of my imprisonment, now more than ever dare to speak the word fearlessly.

Therefore after I have completed this and have safely delivered this bounty to them, I will set out for Spain by way of you,and I know that when I come to you I will come in the fullness of Christ’s blessing.

When we entered Rome, Paul was allowed to live by himself, with the soldier who was guarding him.

But when Paul appealed to be kept in custody for the decision of His Majesty the Emperor, I ordered him to be kept under guard until I could send him to Caesar.”

Whose command was ever fulfilled unless the Lord decreed it?

Agrippa said to Festus,“ This man could have been released if he had not appealed to Caesar.”When it was decided we would sail to Italy, they handed over Paul and some other prisoners to a centurion of the Augustan Cohort named Julius.
