亞基帕對非斯都說：「這人若沒有向凱撒上訴，早就被釋放了。」

但猶太人反對，我不得已只好上訴於凱撒，並不是有甚麼事要控告我本國的百姓。

但我查明他並沒有犯甚麼該死的罪，並且他自己也已向皇帝上訴了，所以我決定把他解去。

大衛心裏說：「總有一天我會死在掃羅手裏，現在我最好逃到非利士人的地去，掃羅就會絕望，不會繼續在以色列全境內尋索我了。這樣，我才可以脫離他的手。」

「若我的田地喊冤告我，犁溝也一同哭泣；我若吃地的出產不給銀錢，或叫地的原主喪命；願蒺藜生長代替麥子，惡臭的草代替大麥。」約伯的話說完了。

但保羅要求我留下他，要聽皇上判斷，我就下令把他留下，等我解他到凱撒那裏去。」

我在這裏，你們要在耶和華和他的受膏者面前為我作證，我奪過誰的牛，搶過誰的驢，欺負過誰，虐待過誰，從誰手裏收過賄賂而蒙蔽自己的眼目呢？若有，我必償還。」眾人說：「你未曾欺負我們，虐待我們，也未曾從任何人手裏收過任何東西。」撒母耳對他們說：「你們在我手裏沒有找着甚麼，有耶和華在你們中間作證，也有他的受膏者今日作證。」他們說：「願耶和華作證。」

保羅說：「我現在站在凱撒的審判臺前，這就是我應當受審的地方。我並沒有對猶太人做過甚麼不對的事，這也是你明明知道的。

「大能者上帝耶和華！大能者上帝耶和華！他已知道，願以色列人也知道，我們若有悖逆的行為，或是干犯耶和華，你今日就不要讓我們活着！

耶和華－我的上帝啊，我若行了這事，若有罪孽在我手裏，我若以惡回報我的朋友，連那無故與我為敵的，我也救了他，就任憑仇敵追趕我，直到追上，把我的性命踏在地上，使我的榮耀歸於灰塵。（細拉）

我若舉手攻擊孤兒，因為在城門口見有幫助我的；

他們剛用皮條把他捆上的時候，保羅對站在旁邊的百夫長說：「一個羅馬人，又未被定罪，你們就鞭打他是合法的嗎？」

保羅剛要開口，迦流對猶太人說：「你們這些猶太人哪！如果是為冤枉或奸惡的事，我理當耐性聽你們。

保羅卻說：「我們是羅馬人，並沒有定罪，他們竟在公眾面前打了我們，又把我們下在監裏；現在要私下趕我們出去嗎？這不行！叫他們自己來領我們出去吧！」

這些猶太人不但殺了主耶穌和先知們，又把我們趕出去。他們令上帝不悅，且與眾人為敵，
