他见这事博得了犹太人的欢心，就在除酵节期间，再次捉拿彼得。

彼拉多有意讨好群众，就释放了巴拉巴给他们，把耶稣鞭打了，交给他们钉十字架。

亚基帕对非斯都说：“这个人若没有向凯撒上诉，早就可以释放了。”

保罗申诉到这里，非斯都大声说：“保罗！你疯了；你的学问太大，使你疯了！”保罗说：“非斯都大人，我没有疯，我说的都是真实的话，清醒的话。

惧怕人的，必陷入网罗；倚靠耶和华的，必得安全。

非斯都回答：“保罗现今押在该撒利亚，我就要回到那里去。”

彼拉多就宣判，照他们的要求，把他们所求那作乱杀人入狱的释放了，却把耶稣交出来，随他们的意思处理。

不可随众行恶，不可在诉讼的事上随众说歪曲正义的话；

我现在是要得人的欢心，还是要得神的欢心呢？难道我想讨人欢喜吗？如果我仍然要讨人欢喜，就不是基督的仆人了。

保罗在自己所租的房子里，住了整整两年。凡来见他的人，他都接待，

就说：“等到原告也来了，我才审问你。”于是吩咐人把他拘留在希律的王府里。
