When he has come, he will convict the world about sin, about righteousness, and about judgment;

How the faithful city has become a prostitute! She was full of justice. Righteousness lodged in her, but now there are murderers.

“ For I, Yahweh, love justice. I hate robbery and iniquity. I will give them their reward in truth and I will make an everlasting covenant with them.

Let’s therefore give diligence to enter into that rest, lest anyone fall after the same example of disobedience.For the word of God is living and active, and sharper than any two- edged sword, piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and is able to discern the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

Inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once, and after this, judgment,

Tremble, you women who are at ease! Be troubled, you careless ones! Strip yourselves, make yourselves naked, and put sackcloth on your waist.

But let justice roll on like rivers, and righteousness like a mighty stream.

Obey, I beg you, Yahweh’s voice, in that which I speak to you; so it will be well with you, and your soul will live.But if you refuse to go out, this is the word that Yahweh has shown me:‘ Behold, all the women who are left in the king of Judah’s house will be brought out to the king of Babylon’s princes, and those women will say,“ Your familiar friends have turned on you, and have prevailed over you. Your feet are sunk in the mire, they have turned away from you.”They will bring out all your wives and your children to the Chaldeans. You won’t escape out of their hand, but will be taken by the hand of the king of Babylon. You will cause this city to be burned with fire.’”Then Zedekiah said to Jeremiah,“ Let no man know of these words, and you won’t die.But if the princes hear that I have talked with you, and they come to you, and tell you,‘ Declare to us now what you have said to the king; don’t hide it from us, and we will not put you to death; also tell us what the king said to you;’then you shall tell them,‘ I presented my supplication before the king, that he would not cause me to return to Jonathan’s house, to die there.’”Then all the princes came to Jeremiah, and asked him; and he told them according to all these words that the king had commanded. So they stopped speaking with him; for the matter was not perceived.So Jeremiah stayed in the court of the guard until the day that Jerusalem was taken.

Seek Yahweh while he may be found. Call on him while he is near.

Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap according to kindness. Break up your fallow ground; for it is time to seek Yahweh, until he comes and rains righteousness on you.

For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men,instructing us to the intent that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we would live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present age;

Therefore, even as the Holy Spirit says,“ Today if you will hear his voice,don’t harden your hearts, as in the rebellion, like as in the day of the trial in the wilderness,

Do horses run on the rocky crags? Does one plow there with oxen? But you have turned justice into poison, and the fruit of righteousness into bitterness;

You believe that God is one. You do well. The demons also believe, and shudder.

I command you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at his appearing and his Kingdom:

I saw a great white throne, and him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. There was found no place for them.I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and they opened books. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged out of the things which were written in the books, according to their works.The sea gave up the dead who were in it. Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them. They were judged, each one according to his works.Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire.If anyone was not found written in the book of life, he was cast into the lake of fire.

Now when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked; but others said,“ We want to hear you again concerning this.”

For we must all be revealed before the judgment seat of Christ that each one may receive the things in the body according to what he has done, whether good or bad.

Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and reveal the counsels of the hearts. Then each man will get his praise from God.

They make promises, swearing falsely in making covenants. Therefore judgment springs up like poisonous weeds in the furrows of the field.

They think it is strange that you don’t run with them into the same excess of riot, blaspheming.They will give account to him who is ready to judge the living and the dead.

“ Isn’t my word like fire?” says Yahweh;“ and like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?

Produce your cause,” says Yahweh.“ Bring out your strong reasons!” says the King of Jacob.

For John said to Herod,“ It is not lawful for you to have your brother’s wife.”Herodias set herself against him, and desired to kill him, but she couldn’t,for Herod feared John, knowing that he was a righteous and holy man, and kept him safe. When he heard him, he did many things, and he heard him gladly.Then a convenient day came, that Herod on his birthday made a supper for his nobles, the high officers, and the chief men of Galilee.When the daughter of Herodias herself came in and danced, she pleased Herod and those sitting with him. The king said to the young lady,“ Ask me whatever you want, and I will give it to you.”He swore to her,“ Whatever you shall ask of me, I will give you, up to half of my kingdom.”She went out, and said to her mother,“ What shall I ask?” She said,“ The head of John the Baptizer.”

for he says,“ At an acceptable time I listened to you. In a day of salvation I helped you.” Behold, now is the acceptable time. Behold, now is the day of salvation.

and to give relief to you who are afflicted with us, when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with his mighty angels in flaming fire,punishing those who don’t know God, and to those who don’t obey the Good News of our Lord Jesus,who will pay the penalty: eternal destruction from the face of the Lord and from the glory of his might,when he comes in that day to be glorified in his saints and to be admired among all those who have believed, because our testimony to you was believed.

“ Strive to enter in by the narrow door, for many, I tell you, will seek to enter in and will not be able.When once the master of the house has risen up, and has shut the door, and you begin to stand outside and to knock at the door, saying,‘ Lord, Lord, open to us!’ then he will answer and tell you,‘ I don’t know you or where you come from.’

A throne will be established in loving kindness. One will sit on it in truth, in the tent of David, judging, seeking justice, and swift to do righteousness.

“ Then the Kingdom of Heaven will be like ten virgins, who took their lamps, and went out to meet the bridegroom.Five of them were foolish, and five were wise.Those who were foolish, when they took their lamps, took no oil with them,but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.Now while the bridegroom delayed, they all slumbered and slept.But at midnight there was a cry,‘ Behold! Therefore, O king, let my counsel be acceptable to you, and break off your sins by righteousness, and your iniquities by showing mercy to the poor. Perhaps there may be a lengthening of your tranquility.”

having hope toward God, which these also themselves look for, that there will be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust.

but exhort one another day by day, so long as it is called“ today”, lest any one of you be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.

Let’s fear therefore, lest perhaps anyone of you should seem to have come short of a promise of entering into his rest.

“ Should you reign, because you strive to excel in cedar? Didn’t your father eat and drink, and do justice and righteousness? Then it was well with him.He judged the cause of the poor and needy; so it was well, then. Wasn’t this to know me?” says Yahweh.But your eyes and your heart are only for your covetousness, for shedding innocent blood, for oppression, and for doing violence.”

“ But when the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then he will sit on the throne of his glory.Before him all the nations will be gathered, and he will separate them one from another, as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.He will set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.Then the King will tell those on his right hand,‘ Come, blessed of my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world;for I was hungry, and you gave me food to eat. I was thirsty, and you gave me drink. I was a stranger, and you took me in.I was naked, and you clothed me. I was sick, and you visited me. I was in prison, and you came to me.’“ Then the righteous will answer him, saying,‘ Lord, when did we see you hungry, and feed you; or thirsty, and give you a drink?When did we see you as a stranger, and take you in; or naked, and clothe you?When did we see you sick, or in prison, and come to you?’“ The King will answer them,‘ Most certainly I tell you, because you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’Then he will say also to those on the left hand,‘ Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire which is prepared for the devil and his angels;for I was hungry, and you didn’t give me food to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave me no drink;I was a stranger, and you didn’t take me in; naked, and you didn’t clothe me; sick, and in prison, and you didn’t visit me.’“ Then they will also answer, saying,‘ Lord, when did we see you hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and didn’t help you?’“ Then he will answer them, saying,‘ Most certainly I tell you, because you didn’t do it to one of the least of these, you didn’t do it to me.’These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

“‘ The Lord Yahweh says:“ Let it suffice you, princes of Israel: remove violence and plunder, and execute justice and righteousness; dispossessing my people,” says the Lord Yahweh.

Many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

then Zedekiah the king sent, and had him brought out. The king asked him secretly in his house,“ Is there any word from Yahweh?” Jeremiah said,“ There is.” He also said,“ You will be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon.”Moreover Jeremiah said to king Zedekiah,“ How have I sinned against you, against your servants, or against this people, that you have put me in prison?Now where are your prophets who prophesied to you, saying,‘ The king of Babylon will not come against you, nor against this land?’Now please hear, my lord the king: please let my supplication be presented before you, that you not cause me to return to the house of Jonathan the scribe, lest I die there.”Then Zedekiah the king commanded, and they committed Jeremiah into the court of the guard. They gave him daily a loaf of bread out of the bakers’ street, until all the bread in the city was gone. Thus Jeremiah remained in the court of the guard.

But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts. Always be ready to give an answer to everyone who asks you a reason concerning the hope that is in you, with humility and fear,

As it was in the days of Noah, even so will it be also in the days of the Son of Man.They ate, they drank, they married, and they were given in marriage until the day that Noah entered into the ship, and the flood came and destroyed them all.Likewise, even as it was in the days of Lot: they ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built;but in the day that Lot went out from Sodom, it rained fire and sulfur from the sky and destroyed them all.

It is an abomination for kings to do wrong, for the throne is established by righteousness.

He will judge your people with righteousness, and your poor with justice.

So fearful was the appearance that Moses said,“ I am terrified and trembling.”

For Yahweh is righteous. He loves righteousness. The upright shall see his face.

in the day when God will judge the secrets of men, according to my Good News, by Jesus Christ.

Our God comes, and does not keep silent. A fire devours before him. It is very stormy around him.He calls to the heavens above, to the earth, that he may judge his people:

Yahweh says:“ Execute justice and righteousness, and deliver him who is robbed out of the hand of the oppressor. Do no wrong. Do no violence to the foreigner, the fatherless, or the widow. Don’t shed innocent blood in this place.

My flesh trembles for fear of you. I am afraid of your judgments.

Then all the men of Judah and Benjamin gathered themselves together to Jerusalem within the three days. It was the ninth month, on the twentieth day of the month; and all the people sat in the wide place in front of God’s house, trembling because of this matter, and because of the great rain.

But the Scripture imprisoned all things under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.

Woe to you, land, when your king is a child, and your princes eat in the morning!Happy are you, land, when your king is the son of nobles, and your princes eat in due season, for strength, and not for drunkenness!

In that night Belshazzar the Chaldean King was slain.

Do you indeed speak righteousness, silent ones? Do you judge blamelessly, you sons of men?No, in your heart you plot injustice. You measure out the violence of your hands in the earth.

Because I have called, and you have refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no one has paid attention;but you have ignored all my counsel, and wanted none of my reproof;I also will laugh at your disaster. I will mock when calamity overtakes you,when calamity overtakes you like a storm, when your disaster comes on like a whirlwind, when distress and anguish come on you.Then they will call on me, but I will not answer. They will seek me diligently, but they will not find me;because they hated knowledge, and didn’t choose the fear of Yahweh.They wanted none of my counsel. They despised all my reproof.Therefore they will eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own schemes.For the backsliding of the simple will kill them. The careless ease of fools will destroy them.

Therefore I urge you, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service.

When Ahab heard those words, he tore his clothes, and put sackcloth on his flesh, and fasted, and lay in sackcloth, and went softly.

Now therefore let’s make a covenant with our God to put away all the wives, and those who are born of them, according to the counsel of my lord, and of those who tremble at the commandment of our God. Let it be done according to the law.

God presides in the great assembly. He judges among the gods.“ How long will you judge unjustly, and show partiality to the wicked?” Selah.“ Defend the weak, the poor, and the fatherless. Maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed.Rescue the weak and needy. Deliver them out of the hand of the wicked.”

Now therefore stand still, that I may plead with you before Yahweh concerning all the righteous acts of Yahweh, which he did to you and to your fathers.

But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his own farm, another to his merchandise,

Belshazzar the king made a great feast to a thousand of his lords, and drank wine before the thousand.Belshazzar, while he tasted the wine, commanded that the golden and silver vessels which Nebuchadnezzar his father had taken out of the temple which was in Jerusalem be brought to him; that the king and his lords, his wives and his concubines, might drink from them.Then they brought the golden vessels that were taken out of the temple of God’s house which was at Jerusalem; and the king and his lords, his wives and his concubines, drank from them.They drank wine, and praised the gods of gold, and of silver, of bronze, of iron, of wood, and of stone.

For my hand has made all these things, and so all these things came to be,” says Yahweh:“ but I will look to this man, even to he who is poor and of a contrite spirit, and who trembles at my word.

So then each one of us will give account of himself to God.

The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spoke to me,‘ One who rules over men righteously, who rules in the fear of God,

Yahweh reigns! Let the peoples tremble. He sits enthroned among the cherubim. Let the earth be moved.

When he would have put him to death, he feared the multitude, because they counted him as a prophet.But when Herod’s birthday came, the daughter of Herodias danced among them and pleased Herod.Whereupon he promised with an oath to give her whatever she should ask.She, being prompted by her mother, said,“ Give me here on a platter the head of John the Baptizer.”The king was grieved, but for the sake of his oaths, and of those who sat at the table with him, he commanded it to be given,and he sent and beheaded John in the prison.

Don’t give your strength to women, nor your ways to that which destroys kings.It is not for kings, Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine, nor for princes to say,‘ Where is strong drink?’lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the justice due to anyone who is afflicted.

because your heart was tender, and you humbled yourself before Yahweh, when you heard what I spoke against this place, and against its inhabitants, that they should become a desolation and a curse, and have torn your clothes, and wept before me; I also have heard you,’ says Yahweh.

On the day of our king, the princes made themselves sick with the heat of wine. He joined his hand with mockers.

“ This is what Yahweh of Armies says: These people say,‘ The time hasn’t yet come, the time for Yahweh’s house to be built.’”

For God will bring every work into judgment, with every hidden thing, whether it is good, or whether it is evil.

Moreover I saw under the sun, in the place of justice, that wickedness was there; and in the place of righteousness, that wickedness was there.I said in my heart,“ God will judge the righteous and the wicked; for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work.”

“ Come now, and let’s reason together,” says Yahweh:“ Though your sins are as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow. Though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

But if all prophesy, and someone unbelieving or unlearned comes in, he is reproved by all, and he is judged by all.And thus the secrets of his heart are revealed. So he will fall down on his face and worship God, declaring that God is among you indeed.

Give no sleep to your eyes, nor slumber to your eyelids.Free yourself, like a gazelle from the hand of the hunter, like a bird from the snare of the fowler.

The king of Israel said,“ Take Micaiah, and carry him back to Amon the governor of the city, and to Joash the king’s son.Say,‘ The king says,“ Put this fellow in the prison, and feed him with bread of affliction and with water of affliction, until I come in peace.”’”

But when the Jews of Thessalonica had knowledge that the word of God was proclaimed by Paul at Beroea also, they came there likewise, agitating the multitudes.

and a spirit of justice to him who sits in judgment, and strength to those who turn back the battle at the gate.They also reel with wine, and stagger with strong drink. The priest and the prophet reel with strong drink. They are swallowed up by wine. They stagger with strong drink. They err in vision. They stumble in judgment.

I heard, and my body trembled. My lips quivered at the voice. Rottenness enters into my bones, and I tremble in my place, because I must wait quietly for the day of trouble, for the coming up of the people who invade us.

Now we know that whatever things the law says, it speaks to those who are under the law, that every mouth may be closed, and all the world may be brought under the judgment of God.Because by the works of the law, no flesh will be justified in his sight; for through the law comes the knowledge of sin.

Come now, you who say,“ Today or tomorrow let’s go into this city, and spend a year there, trade, and make a profit.”Whereas you don’t know what your life will be like tomorrow. For what is your life? For you are a vapor that appears for a little time, and then vanishes away.

I put on righteousness, and it clothed me. My justice was as a robe and a diadem.

You have loved righteousness, and hated wickedness. Therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness above your fellows.

Rejoice, young man, in your youth, and let your heart cheer you in the days of your youth, and walk in the ways of your heart, and in the sight of your eyes; but know that for all these things God will bring you into judgment.

But rise up and enter into the city, then you will be told what you must do.”

Agrippa said to Paul,“ With a little persuasion are you trying to make me a Christian?”

If you see the oppression of the poor, and the violent taking away of justice and righteousness in a district, don’t marvel at the matter, for one official is eyed by a higher one, and there are officials over them.

Meanwhile, he also hoped that money would be given to him by Paul, that he might release him. Therefore also he sent for him more often and talked with him.
