眾大譟、𠵽唎㘔同道士子、起而爭曰、我儕見此人無惡、或神、或天使、與之言、我不可與上帝爭、

眾大譟、屬法利賽教之經士、起而爭辯曰、我儕見此人無惡、若有鬼魂或天使與之言、我儕不可敵天主、

於是大聲噪聒、有法利塞黨之經生數人、起而辯曰：『吾儕未見是人有何罪惡；安知無神靈或天神曾與之語耶？』

Then a great clamor arose, and some of the scribes of the Pharisees’ party stood up and contended sharply,“ We find nothing wrong in this man. What if a spirit or an angel spoke to him?”

The shouting grew loud, and some of the scribes of the Pharisees’ party got up and argued vehemently,“ We find nothing evil in this man. What if a spirit or an angel has spoken to him?”

And a great uproar occurred; and some of the scribes of the Pharisaic party stood up and started arguing heatedly, saying,“ We find nothing wrong with this man; suppose a spirit or an angel has spoken to him?”

Then there arose a loud outcry. And the scribes of the Pharisees’ party arose and protested, saying,“ We find no evil in this man; but if a spirit or an angel has spoken to him, let us not fight against God.”

And there arose a great clamor: and some of the scribes of the Pharisees’ part stood up, and strove, saying, We find no evil in this man: and what if a spirit hath spoken to him, or an angel?

There was a great commotion, and some experts in the law from the party of the Pharisees stood up and protested strongly,“ We find nothing wrong with this man. What if a spirit or an angel has spoken to him?”

A great clamor arose, and some of the scribes of the Pharisees’ part stood up, and contended, saying,“ We find no evil in this man. But if a spirit or angel has spoken to him, let’s not fight against God!”

I fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to me,‘ Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?’

“ After I returned to Jerusalem, I was praying in the Temple and fell into a trance.I saw a vision of Jesus saying to me,‘ Hurry! Leave Jerusalem, for the people here won’t accept your testimony about me.’

When the crowd heard the voice, some thought it was thunder, while others declared an angel had spoken to him.

As they went out, they talked it over and agreed,“ This man hasn’t done anything to deserve death or imprisonment.”

But when the teachers of religious law who were Pharisees saw him eating with tax collectors and other sinners, they asked his disciples,“ Why does he eat with such scum?”

I soon discovered the charge was something regarding their religious law— certainly nothing worthy of imprisonment or death.

But in my opinion he has done nothing deserving death. However, since he appealed his case to the emperor, I have decided to send him to Rome.

For the third time he demanded,“ Why? What crime has he committed? I have found no reason to sentence him to death. So I will have him flogged, and then I will release him.”

But if it is from God, you will not be able to overthrow them. You may even find yourselves fighting against God!”

and he announced his verdict.“ You brought this man to me, accusing him of leading a revolt. I have examined him thoroughly on this point in your presence and find him innocent.Herod came to the same conclusion and sent him back to us. Nothing this man has done calls for the death penalty.

And since God gave these Gentiles the same gift he gave us when we believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I to stand in God’s way?”

When people’s lives please the Lord, even their enemies are at peace with them.

Pilate turned to the leading priests and to the crowd and said,“ I find nothing wrong with this man!”

for the Sadducees say there is no resurrection or angels or spirits, but the Pharisees believe in all of these.

But the Pharisees and their teachers of religious law complained bitterly to Jesus’ disciples,“ Why do you eat and drink with such scum?”

And he said to David,“ You are a better man than I am, for you have repaid me good for evil.

What? Do we dare to rouse the Lord’s jealousy? Do you think we are stronger than he is?

We all fell down, and I heard a voice saying to me in Aramaic,‘ Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me? It is useless for you to fight against my will.’“‘ Who are you, lord?’ I asked.“ And the Lord replied,‘ I am Jesus, the one you are persecuting.Now get to your feet! For I have appeared to you to appoint you as my servant and witness. Tell people that you have seen me, and tell them what I will show you in the future.And I will rescue you from both your own people and the Gentiles. Yes, I am sending you to the Gentilesto open their eyes, so they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God. Then they will receive forgiveness for their sins and be given a place among God’s people, who are set apart by faith in me.’“ And so, King Agrippa, I obeyed that vision from heaven.

He fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him,“ Saul! Saul! Why are you persecuting me?”

For last night an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I serve stood beside me,
