乃大喧譁、法利賽黨之士子數人、起而爭曰、我見此人無惡、或有神靈、或天使、與之言乎、

眾大譟、𠵽唎㘔同道士子、起而爭曰、我儕見此人無惡、或神、或天使、與之言、我不可與上帝爭、

眾大譟、屬法利賽教之經士、起而爭辯曰、我儕見此人無惡、若有鬼魂或天使與之言、我儕不可敵天主、

於是大聲噪聒、有法利塞黨之經生數人、起而辯曰：『吾儕未見是人有何罪惡；安知無神靈或天神曾與之語耶？』

There was a great uproar, and some of the teachers of the law who were Pharisees stood up and argued vigorously.“ We find nothing wrong with this man,” they said.“ What if a spirit or an angel has spoken to him?”

Then a great clamor arose, and some of the scribes of the Pharisees’ party stood up and contended sharply,“ We find nothing wrong in this man. What if a spirit or an angel spoke to him?”

So there was a great uproar. Some of the teachers of religious law who were Pharisees jumped up and began to argue forcefully.“ We see nothing wrong with him,” they shouted.“ Perhaps a spirit or an angel spoke to him.”

And a great uproar occurred; and some of the scribes of the Pharisaic party stood up and started arguing heatedly, saying,“ We find nothing wrong with this man; suppose a spirit or an angel has spoken to him?”

Then there arose a loud outcry. And the scribes of the Pharisees’ party arose and protested, saying,“ We find no evil in this man; but if a spirit or an angel has spoken to him, let us not fight against God.”

And there arose a great clamor: and some of the scribes of the Pharisees’ part stood up, and strove, saying, We find no evil in this man: and what if a spirit hath spoken to him, or an angel?

There was a great commotion, and some experts in the law from the party of the Pharisees stood up and protested strongly,“ We find nothing wrong with this man. What if a spirit or an angel has spoken to him?”

A great clamor arose, and some of the scribes of the Pharisees’ part stood up, and contended, saying,“ We find no evil in this man. But if a spirit or angel has spoken to him, let’s not fight against God!”

I fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to me,‘ Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?’

“ After I returned to Jerusalem and was praying in the temple, I fell into a tranceand saw him telling me,‘ Hurry and get out of Jerusalem quickly, because they will not accept your testimony about me.’

The crowd standing there heard it and said it was thunder. Others said,“ An angel has spoken to him.”

and when they had left they talked with each other and said,“ This man is not doing anything to deserve death or imprisonment.”

When the scribes who were Pharisees saw that he was eating with sinners and tax collectors, they asked his disciples,“ Why does he eat with tax collectors and sinners?”

I found out that the accusations were concerning questions of their law, and that there was no charge that merited death or imprisonment.

I found that he had not done anything deserving of death, but when he himself appealed to the Emperor, I decided to send him.

A third time he said to them,“ Why? What has this man done wrong? I have found in him no grounds for the death penalty. Therefore, I will have him whipped and then release him.”

but if it is of God, you will not be able to overthrow them. You may even be found fighting against God.” They were persuaded by him.

and said to them,“ You have brought me this man as one who misleads the people. But in fact, after examining him in your presence, I have found no grounds to charge this man with those things you accuse him of.Neither has Herod, because he sent him back to us. Clearly, he has done nothing to deserve death.

If, then, God gave them the same gift that he also gave to us when we believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, how could I possibly hinder God?”

When a person’s ways please the LORD, he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.

Pilate then told the chief priests and the crowds,“ I find no grounds for charging this man.”

For the Sadducees say there is no resurrection, and neither angel nor spirit, but the Pharisees affirm them all.

But the Pharisees and their scribes were complaining to his disciples,“ Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?”

and said to David,“ You are more righteous than I, for you have done what is good to me though I have done what is evil to you.

Or are we provoking the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than he?

We all fell to the ground, and I heard a voice speaking to me in Aramaic,‘ Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me? It is hard for you to kick against the goads.’“ I asked,‘ Who are you, Lord?’“ And the Lord replied,‘ I am Jesus, the one you are persecuting.But get up and stand on your feet. For I have appeared to you for this purpose, to appoint you as a servant and a witness of what you have seen and will see of me.I will rescue you from your people and from the Gentiles. I am sending you to themto open their eyes so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a share among those who are sanctified by faith in me.’“ So then, King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision.

Falling to the ground, he heard a voice saying to him,“ Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?”

For last night an angel of the God I belong to and serve stood by me
