“ I will hear your case myself when your accusers arrive,” the governor told him. Then the governor ordered him kept in the prison at Herod’s headquarters.

he said,“ I will give you a hearing whenever your accusers also get here.” He ordered that he be kept under guard in Herod’s palace.

he said,“ I will give you a hearing when your accusers arrive as well,” giving orders for Paul to be kept in Herod’s Praetorium.

I will hear thee fully, said he, when thine accusers also are come: and he commanded him to be kept in Herod’s palace.

后来有人把要害他的计谋告诉我，我立刻把他解到你那里去，又命令告他的人在你面前告他。”

我回覆他们，无论什么人，被告还没有和原告当面对质，没有机会为所控告的事申辩，就先定他罪的，这不是罗马人的规矩。

总督的兵把耶稣带进总督府，把全营的兵都聚集在耶稣那里。

希律王听见了，就心里不安；耶路撒冷全城的人也都不安。

过了五天，亚拿尼亚大祭司、几个长老和一个叫帖土罗的律师下来，向总督控告保罗。

在希律作王的时候，耶稣生在犹太的伯利恒。有几个博学之士从东方来到耶路撒冷，说：

腓力斯本是详细认识这道，就拖延他们，说：“且等吕西亚千夫长下来，我再审判你们的案。”

过了几天，腓力斯和他夫人犹太女子土西拉一同来到，就叫保罗来，听他讲论信基督耶稣的事。保罗讲论公义、节制和将来的审判，腓力斯害怕起来，就回答：“你暂且去吧！等我有机会时再来叫你。”腓力斯又指望保罗送他银钱，所以屡次叫他来，和他谈论。过了两年，波求‧非斯都接了腓力斯的任；腓力斯要讨犹太人的喜欢，就把保罗留在监里。

希律见自己被博学之士愚弄，极其愤怒，差人将伯利恒城里和四境所有的男孩，根据他向博学之士仔细查问到的时间，凡两岁以内的，都杀尽了。

总督示意叫保罗说话，保罗就回答：“我知道你在本国作法官多年，所以我乐意为自己申辩。

他们把耶稣从该亚法那里押解到总督府。那时是清早。他们自己却不进总督府，恐怕染了污秽，不能吃逾越节的宴席。

惟有几个从亚细亚来的犹太人—他们若有控告我的事，应当到你面前来告我。
