乞勿從之、蓋其中有四十餘人、設伏伺之、且誓而自呪、不殺保羅、不食不飲、今已備矣、惟冀爾許之耳、

Don’t give in to them, because more than forty of them are waiting in ambush for him. They have taken an oath not to eat or drink until they have killed him. They are ready now, waiting for your consent to their request.”

到了天亮，猶太人同謀起誓，說「若不先殺保羅就不吃不喝」。參與這陰謀的有四十多人。他們來見祭司長和長老，說：「我們已經發了重誓，若不先殺保羅就甚麼也不吃。

向他求情要對付保羅，把他提到耶路撒冷來，他們要在路上埋伏殺害他。

我又屢次行遠路，遭江河的危險，盜賊的危險，同族人的危險，外族人的危險，城裏的危險，曠野的危險，海中的危險，假弟兄的危險。

過了好些日子，猶太人商議要殺掃羅，但他們的計謀被掃羅知道了。他們晝夜在城門守候着要殺他。

那時，外邦人、猶太人和他們的官長，一齊擁上來，要凌辱使徒，用石頭打他們。使徒知道了，就逃到呂高尼的路司得和特庇兩個城，以及周圍地方去，

怎樣凡事謙卑，以眼淚服侍主，又因猶太人的謀害經歷試煉。

為我弟兄，我骨肉之親，就是自己被詛咒，與基督分離，我也願意。

不可附和羣眾作惡；不可在訴訟中附和羣眾歪曲公正，作歪曲的見證；

在大馬士革的亞哩達王手下的提督把守大馬士革城，要捉拿我，我被人用筐子從城牆上的窗口縋下，逃脫了他的手。
