到了天亮，犹太人同谋起誓，说：“若不先杀保罗就不吃不喝。”这样同心起誓的有四十多人。他们来见祭司长和长老，说：“我们已经起了一个大誓，若不先杀保罗就不吃什么。

又央告他，求他的情，将保罗提到耶路撒冷来，他们要在路上埋伏杀害他。

又屡次行远路，遭江河的危险、盗贼的危险、同族的危险、外邦人的危险、城里的危险、旷野的危险、海中的危险、假弟兄的危险。

过了好些日子，犹太人商议要杀扫罗，但他们的计谋被扫罗知道了。他们又昼夜在城门守候，要杀他。

那时，外邦人和犹太人，并他们的官长，一齐拥上来，要凌辱使徒，用石头打他们。使徒知道了，就逃往吕高尼的路司得、特庇两个城和周围地方去，

服侍主，凡事谦卑，眼中流泪，又因犹太人的谋害，经历试炼。

为我弟兄，我骨肉之亲，就是自己被咒诅，与基督分离，我也愿意。

不可随众行恶；不可在争讼的事上随众偏行，作见证屈枉正直；

在大马士革的亚哩达王手下的提督把守大马士革城，要捉拿我，我就从窗户中，在筐子里，从城墙上被人缒下去，脱离了他的手。
