Then Paul called one of the centurions and said,“ Take this young man to the commander; he has something to tell him.”

百夫長回答說：「主啊，我實在不配請你進我家。其實只要你說一句話，我的僕人就會痊癒的。事實上，我也在人的權下，也有士兵在我之下。我對這個說『去』，他就去；對那個說『來』，他就來；對我的奴僕說『做這事』，他就去做。」

百夫長聽了，就來到千夫長面前，報告說：「你要做什麼呢？要知道，這個人是羅馬公民。」

聰明人看見惡事就會躲藏；無知的人卻前去自招懲罰。

「看哪，我差派你們出去，就像把羊送進狼群中，所以你們要像蛇那樣聰明，像鴿子那樣純潔。
