亞伯蘭說：「主耶和華啊，我還沒有兒子，你能賜我甚麼呢？承受我家業的是大馬士革人以利以謝。」

「那時，我帶着祭司長的權柄和命令往大馬士革去。王啊！我在路上，中午的時候，看見從天上有一道光，比太陽還亮，四面照射着我和跟我同行的人。我們都仆倒在地，我就聽見有聲音用希伯來話對我說：『掃羅！掃羅！你為甚麼迫害我？你用腳踢刺棒是自找苦吃的！』我說：『主啊，你是誰？』主說：『我就是你所迫害的耶穌。起來，站着，我向你顯現的目的是要派你作僕役，為你所看見我的事，和我將要指示你的事作見證人。我也要救你脫離百姓和外邦人的手。我差你到他們那裏去，要開他們的眼睛，使他們從黑暗中轉向光明，從撒但權下歸向神；使他們因信我而得蒙赦罪，和一切成聖的人同得基業。』」

在夜間，他和他的僕人分隊擊敗了敵人，並且追殺他們，直到大馬士革北邊的何把。

他在他們面前變了形像，他的臉明亮如太陽，衣裳潔白如光。

掃羅在途中，將到大馬士革的時候，忽然有一道光從天上下來，四面照射着他，他就仆倒在地，聽見有聲音對他說：「掃羅！掃羅！你為甚麼迫害我？」他說：「主啊！你是誰？」主說：「我就是你所迫害的耶穌。起來！進城去，你應該做的事，必有人告訴你。」同行的人站在那裏，說不出話來，因為他們聽見聲音，卻看不見人。掃羅從地上起來，睜開眼睛，竟不能看見甚麼。有人拉他的手，領他進了大馬士革。

於是大衛在大馬士革的亞蘭設立軍營，亞蘭人就臣服大衛，向他進貢。大衛無論往哪裏去，耶和華都使他得勝。

那時，月亮要蒙羞，太陽要慚愧，因為萬軍之耶和華必在錫安山，在耶路撒冷作王，在他眾長老面前彰顯榮耀。

他右手拿着七顆星，從他口中吐出一把兩刃的利劍，面貌好像烈日放光。
