亞伯蘭說：「主耶和華啊，你要賜我什麼呢？我沒有兒子，繼承我家業的人是大馬士革人以利以謝。」

「那時，我帶著祭司長的授權和委託去大馬士革。王啊！大約中午時分，我在路上看見一道比太陽還亮的光從天上照在我和同行的人周圍。我們都倒在地上，我聽見有聲音用希伯來話對我說，『掃羅！掃羅！你為什麼迫害我？你很難用腳去踢刺。』我說，『主啊，你是誰？』主說，『我就是你所迫害的耶穌。你站起來。我向你顯現，是要派你作我的僕人和見證人，把你所看見的和以後我將啟示給你的事告訴世人。我將把你從你的同胞和外族人手中救出來。我差遣你到他們那裡，去開他們的眼睛，使他們棄暗投明，脫離魔鬼的權勢，歸向上帝，好叫他們的罪得到赦免，與所有因信我而聖潔的人同得基業。』

夜裡，亞伯蘭和他的隨從分頭出擊，大敗敵人，一直追殺到大馬士革北面的何巴，

耶穌在他們面前改變了形像，面貌如太陽一樣發光，衣服潔白如光。

當他快到大馬士革的時候，突然有一道光從天上射下來，四面照著他。他倒在地上，聽見有聲音對他說：「掃羅！掃羅！你為什麼迫害我？」他說：「主啊，你是誰？」那聲音說：「我就是你所迫害的耶穌。起來！進城去，有人會告訴你該做的事。」同行的人站在那裡只聽見聲音，卻看不見人，嚇得張口結舌。掃羅爬起來，睜大眼睛，卻什麼也看不見，同伴拉著他的手進了大馬士革。

還派軍駐守亞蘭國的大馬士革，亞蘭人臣服大衛，向他進貢。耶和華使大衛無往而不勝。

那時，月亮必羞於露面，太陽必黯然無光，因為萬軍之耶和華必在錫安山，在耶路撒冷掌權，在祂子民的首領面前彰顯榮耀。

祂右手拿著七顆星，口中吐出一把兩刃的利劍，面貌如烈日放光。
