The commander wanted to find out exactly why Paul was being accused by the Jews. So the next day he released him and ordered the chief priests and all the members of the Sanhedrin to assemble. Then he brought Paul and had him stand before them.

我想了解犹太人控告他的理由，就带他到他们的议会去。

于是千夫长上前抓住保罗，下令用两条铁链把他捆起来，然后查问他到底是什么人，做了什么事。

但是我告诉你们：所有向他弟兄发怒的，当遭受审判；骂他弟兄‘废物’的，当遭受议会的审判；骂‘蠢货’的，当遭受烈火的地狱。

你们要提防人们，因为他们将要把你们送交议会，并且在他们的会堂里鞭打你们。

他们听从这话，在清晨的时候就进入圣殿教导人。这时，大祭司和与他在一起的人来了，他们召集了议会，就是以色列子民长老的全体议会，然后派人到监狱里，要把使徒们带来。

保罗说：“无论话多话少，我向神祈求的，不仅是您，还有今天所有听我讲话的人都能成为像我这样的人，只是不要有这些锁链！”

他们把耶稣捆起来带走，交给总督彼拉多。

他来到我们这里，拿起保罗的腰带，把自己的手脚捆起来，说：“圣灵这样说，犹太人在耶路撒冷要如此捆绑这腰带的主人，把他交在外邦人的手中。”

所以你们和议会现在就要告诉千夫长，把保罗带到你们这里来，假装要更详尽地审查他的事；我们预备好了，要在他到达以前就杀了他。”

这是大祭司和全长老议会的人都可以为我做见证的。我还从他们那里拿到了给同胞们的一些信函往大马士革去，要把那里被捆绑的信徒们，带到耶路撒冷来受刑。
