When the centurion heard this, he went and reported to the commander, saying,“ What are you going to do? For this man is a Roman citizen.”

百夫长听见这话，就去见千夫长，告诉他说：“你要做什么？这人是罗马人。”

百夫長聽見這話，就去見千夫長，告訴他說：「你要做甚麼？這人是羅馬人。」

百夫長聽見了，就上千夫長跟前報告說：『你要怎麼辦呢？這人是個羅馬人呀！』

百夫長聞之、往告千夫長曰、爾何為乎、此羅馬人也、

千總即來問葆樂曰：『請告予、汝果為羅馬人乎？』葆樂曰：『是。』

And when the centurion heard it, he went to the chief captain and told him, saying, What art thou about to do? for this man is a Roman.

When the centurion heard[ that], he went and told the chief captain, saying, Take heed what thou doest: for this man is a Roman.

When the centurion heard this, he went to the commanding officer and reported it, saying,“ What are you about to do? For this man is a Roman citizen.”

So those who were about to examine him withdrew from him immediately. The commander too was alarmed when he realized Paul was a Roman citizen and he had bound him.

When this man had been seized by the Jews and was about to be killed by them, I arrived with my troops and rescued him because I learned that he is a Roman citizen.
