有婦人得了他們死去的親人復活過來。另有人被張如鼓、受重擊而死，不接受贖放，為要得復活到較好的生活。

他們正想法子要殺他的時候，就有話傳上去、到營部的千夫長那裏，說全耶路撒冷都紛亂了。千夫長登時帶兵和幾個百夫長，跑下去到他們那裏。他們看見千夫長和士兵，就停止不擊打保羅。

那時彼拉多就拿耶穌，鞭打了。

這個人被猶太人捉拿了，剛要被他們殺掉時，我聽說他是羅馬人，就帶兵到場，救拔出來。

士兵剛用皮條將保羅反綁起來時，保羅對旁邊站着的百夫長說：『你們鞭笞了一個人，是羅馬人，又是沒受定罪的，可以麼？』百夫長聽見了，就上千夫長跟前報告說：『你要怎麼辦呢？這人是個羅馬人呀！』千夫長就上前來，對保羅說：『告訴我，你是羅馬人麼？』他說：『是的』。千夫長應時說：『我是用了一大筆款項才買得到這個公民資格的。』保羅說：『我卻生來就是的。』於是那些將要拷問保羅的立刻離開了他；百夫長知道保羅是羅馬人，又因為曾捆綁過他、也害怕。

羣眾一齊起來攻擊他們，官長就撕破他們的衣裳，發命令用棍子打。鞭打了許多棍，便將他們下在監裏，囑咐看監獄的妥妥當當地看守着。
