于是那些要拷问保罗的人立刻离开他走了。千夫长一知道他是罗马人，又因为曾捆绑了他，也害怕起来。

大利拉就用新绳子捆绑他，对他说：“参孙，非利士人来捉你了！”当时，埋伏的人在内室等着。参孙挣断手臂上的绳子，如挣断一条线一样。

于是非利士人的领袖拿了七条未干的新绳子来，交给她，她就用绳子捆绑参孙。

非利士人逮住他，挖了他的眼睛，带他下到迦萨，用铜链锁住他，叫他在监狱里推磨。

愿主怜悯阿尼色弗一家的人，因为他屡次令我欣慰。他不以我的铁链为耻，

我回覆他们，无论什么人，被告还没有和原告当面对质，没有机会为所控告的事申辩，就先定他罪的，这不是罗马人的规矩。

他们说：“我们绝不杀你，只把你捆绑，交在非利士人手中。”于是他们用两条新绳绑住参孙，把他从以坦岩带上去。

于是彼拉多出来，到他们那里，说：“你们告这人是为什么事呢？”他们回答他说：“这人若不作恶，我们就不会把他交给你了。”

保罗说：“无论少劝还是多劝，我向上帝所求的，不但你一个人，就是今天所有听我说话的人都要像我一样，只是不要有这些锁链。”

我为这福音受苦难，甚至像犯人一样被捆绑，然而上帝的话没有被捆绑。

千夫长下令把保罗带进营楼，叫人用鞭子拷问他，要知道他们向他这样喧嚷是什么缘故。他们刚用皮条把他捆上的时候，保罗对站在旁边的百夫长说：“一个罗马人，又未被定罪，你们就鞭打他是合法的吗？”
