因此，我請你們來見面談談。我原是為了以色列的盼望，才帶上這條鎖鍊的。”

於是那些要拷問他的人，立刻離開他走了。千夫長既知道他是羅馬公民，又因捆綁過他，就害怕起來。

於是大利拉把新繩子拿了來，把參孫捆綁了，對他說：“參孫哪，非利士人上來捉你了！”當時有人埋伏在她的內室裡等候著。參孫把繩子從手臂上掙斷下來，像掙斷一根線一樣。

於是非利士人的領袖把七條未乾的青繩子，帶上來給那婦人，她就用那些繩子把參孫捆綁起來。

非利士人把他捉住，剜去了他的眼睛，帶他下到迦薩，用銅鍊捆綁著他，他就在監牢裡推磨。

願主賜憐憫給阿尼色弗一家的人，因為他多次使我暢快，也不以我的鎖鍊為恥；

我答覆他們說，被告還沒有和原告當面對證，又沒有機會為所控的罪申辯，就被送給對方，羅馬人沒有這個規例。

他們告訴他說：“我們不會殺害你，我們只要把你捆綁住，交在非利士人手裡，我們決不殺死你。”於是他們用兩條新繩子把參孫捆綁起來，從磐石的穴裡把他帶上來。

於是彼拉多走到外面見他們，說：“你們控告這個人甚麼呢？”他們回答：“如果這個人沒有作惡，我們就不會把他交給你。”

保羅說：“無論時間短也好，時間長也好，我向神所求的，不單是你，而且是今天所有的聽眾，都能像我一樣作基督徒，只是不要有這些鎖鍊。”

我為了這福音受了磨難，甚至像犯人一樣被捆綁起來；可是，神的話卻不被捆綁。

千夫長下令把保羅帶到營樓去，吩咐人用鞭子拷問他，要知道群眾為甚麼這樣向他喊叫。士兵正用皮帶綁他的時候，保羅對站在旁邊的百夫長說：“你們鞭打一個還沒有定罪的羅馬公民，是合法的嗎？”
