正獻上供物的時候，他們在聖殿裡發現了我，那時我已經行完了潔淨禮，既沒有人群，也沒有騷亂，

於是，第二天保羅帶了那四個人，與他們一起行了潔淨禮，進了聖殿，宣告潔淨期滿的日子，直到為他們每一個人的供物都被獻上為止。

保羅在哥林多繼續留了許多日子，然後向弟兄們告別，坐船往敘利亞省去；普茜拉和阿奎拉也與他同去。他因為許過願，就在堅革里港剃了頭髮。

原來，從雅各那裡來的一些人到達之前，磯法與外邦人一起吃飯；可是那些人一到，他因為怕那些割禮派的人，就退縮，與外邦人分開了。

因為這些只是關於飲食和各種洗淨禮，是屬肉體的規定，一直實施到更新的時候為止。不過基督已經來到，做了那些已經發生的美善之事的大祭司，經過了那更大、更完美的會幕。那會幕不是人手所造的；就是說，不屬於這被造的世界。他也沒有藉著山羊和牛犢的血，而是藉著他自己的血，一次性地進入聖所，成就了永恆的救贖。實際上，如果山羊和公牛的血，以及母牛犢的灰，灑在那些汙穢的人身上，能使他們分別為聖、肉身潔淨，更何況基督的血呢！基督藉著永恆的聖靈，將自己毫無瑕疵地獻給神，他的血難道不能潔淨我們的良心脫離致死的行為，使我們事奉永生的神嗎？

約翰的門徒們與一個猶太人，為了潔淨禮起了辯論。

對猶太人，我就成為一個像猶太人那樣的人，為了贏得猶太人；對律法之下的人，雖然我自己不在律法之下，我卻成為一個像是在律法之下的人，為了贏得在律法之下的人；

猶太人的逾越節快到了。許多人從鄉下上耶路撒冷去，要在節日前潔淨自己。
