正献上供物的时候，他们在圣殿里发现了我，那时我已经行完了洁净礼，既没有人群，也没有骚乱，

于是，第二天保罗带了那四个人，与他们一起行了洁净礼，进了圣殿，宣告洁净期满的日子，直到为他们每一个人的供物都被献上为止。

保罗在哥林多继续留了许多日子，然后向弟兄们告别，坐船往叙利亚省去；普茜拉和阿奎拉也与他同去。他因为许过愿，就在坚革里港剃了头发。

原来，从雅各那里来的一些人到达之前，矶法与外邦人一起吃饭；可是那些人一到，他因为怕那些割礼派的人，就退缩，与外邦人分开了。

因为这些只是关于饮食和各种洗净礼，是属肉体的规定，一直实施到更新的时候为止。不过基督已经来到，做了那些已经发生的美善之事的大祭司，经过了那更大、更完美的会幕。那会幕不是人手所造的；就是说，不属于这被造的世界。他也没有藉着山羊和牛犊的血，而是藉着他自己的血，一次性地进入圣所，成就了永恒的救赎。实际上，如果山羊和公牛的血，以及母牛犊的灰，洒在那些污秽的人身上，能使他们分别为圣、肉身洁净，更何况基督的血呢！基督藉着永恒的圣灵，将自己毫无瑕疵地献给神，他的血难道不能洁净我们的良心脱离致死的行为，使我们事奉永生的神吗？

约翰的门徒们与一个犹太人，为了洁净礼起了辩论。

对犹太人，我就成为一个像犹太人那样的人，为了赢得犹太人；对律法之下的人，虽然我自己不在律法之下，我却成为一个像是在律法之下的人，为了赢得在律法之下的人；

犹太人的逾越节快到了。许多人从乡下上耶路撒冷去，要在节日前洁净自己。
