喊着：“以色列人哪，来帮忙！这就是在各处教导众人糟蹋我们百姓、律法和这地方的人。不但如此，他还带了希腊人进圣殿，污秽了这圣地。”

我虽然是自由的，不受人管辖，但我甘心作了众人的仆人，为赢得更多的人。对犹太人，我就作犹太人，为要赢得犹太人；对律法以下的人，我虽不在律法以下，还是作律法以下的人，为要赢得律法以下的人。对没有律法的人，我就作没有律法的人，为要赢得没有律法的人；其实我在上帝面前，不是没有律法，而是在基督的律法之下。

过了三天，保罗请当地犹太人的领袖来。他们来了，保罗对他们说：“诸位弟兄，虽然我没有做什么事干犯本国的百姓和我们祖宗的规矩，却在耶路撒冷被囚禁，交在罗马人的手里。

基督释放了我们，为使我们得自由。所以要站稳了，不要再被奴隶的轭挟制。我—保罗告诉你们，你们若受割礼，基督就对你们无益了。我再指着凡受割礼的人确实地说，他有义务遵行全部的律法。你们这要靠律法称义的是与基督隔绝，从恩典中坠落了。至于我们，我们是靠着圣灵，凭着信心，等候所盼望的义。因为在基督耶稣里，受割礼不受割礼都没有功效，惟独使人发出仁爱的信心才有功效。

信心软弱的，你们要接纳，不同的意见，不要争论。有人信什么都可吃；但那软弱的，只吃蔬菜。吃的人不可轻看不吃的人；不吃的人也不可评断吃的人，因为上帝已经接纳他了。你是谁，竟评断别人的仆人呢？他或站立或跌倒，自有他的主人在，而且他也必会站立，因为主能使他站稳。有人看这日比那日强；有人看日日都是一样。只是各人要在自己的心意上坚定。守日子的人是为主守的。吃的人是为主吃的，因他感谢上帝；不吃的人是为主不吃的，他也感谢上帝。

所以，我的意见是不可难为那归向上帝的外邦人；但是要写信吩咐他们禁戒偶像所玷污的东西、血和勒死的牲畜，禁戒淫乱。因为历代以来，摩西的书在各城都有人宣讲，每逢安息日，也在会堂里诵读。”

设下假见证，说：“这个人不断地说话，侮辱神圣的地方和律法。我们曾听见他说，这拿撒勒人耶稣要毁坏这地方，也要改变摩西所交给我们的规矩。”

有人受割礼后才蒙召，他就不必除去割礼的记号。有人未受割礼前蒙召，他就不必受割礼。受割礼算不了什么，不受割礼也算不了什么，只要谨守上帝的诫命就是了。

保罗要带他同去，只因那些地方的犹太人都知道他父亲是希腊人，就给他行了割礼。
