They have been informed that you teach all the Jews who live among the Gentiles to turn away from Moses, telling them not to circumcise their children or live according to our customs.

They have been told that you teach Jews to turn away from the Law of Moses. You teach this to the Jews who live among the Gentiles. They think that you teach those Jews not to circumcise their children. They think that you teach them to give up our Jewish ways.

那些勉强你们接受割礼的人只不过是做表面工夫，想讨好别人，避免为基督的十字架受迫害。那些接受割礼的人自己也不能遵行律法。他们要你们接受割礼，无非是想借着你们的肉体夸耀。至于我自己，我绝不夸耀别的，只夸耀我们主耶稣基督的十字架。因为对我来说，世上的一切都已经被钉在十字架上；对这世界来说，我已经被钉在十字架上。受不受割礼根本无关紧要，做一个新造的人才至关重要。

他们高喊：“以色列人快来帮忙！就是这人到处教唆人反对我们的民族、律法和圣殿。他还带希腊人进圣殿，玷污这圣地。”

我虽然是自由之身，不受任何人支配，但我甘愿成为众人的奴仆，为了要得到更多的人。面对犹太人我就做犹太人，为了要赢得犹太人。面对守律法的人，我这不受律法束缚的人就守律法，为了要赢得守律法的人。面对没有律法的人，我就像个没有律法的人，为了要赢得没有律法的人。其实我并非在上帝的律法之外，我是在基督的律法之下。

三天后，保罗请来当地犹太人的首领，对他们说：“弟兄们，虽然我没有做过任何对不起同胞或违背祖先规矩的事，却在耶路撒冷遭囚禁，又被交到罗马人的手里。

基督释放了我们，是要我们得自由。所以，要站稳了，不要再被奴仆的轭辖制。听着！我保罗郑重地告诉你们，如果你们接受割礼，基督对你们就毫无益处。我再次警告所有接受割礼的人，他们必须遵守全部的律法。你们若想靠遵行律法而被称为义人，就与基督隔绝了，并且离开了上帝的恩典。但我们要靠着圣灵，凭信心热切等候所盼望的义。我们既然已经在基督耶稣里，受不受割礼根本无关紧要，借着爱表现出来的信心才至关重要。

你们要接纳信心软弱的弟兄姊妹，不要因为看法不同便彼此批评。有人相信什么都可以吃，但信心软弱的人只吃素菜。吃的人不可轻看不吃的人，不吃的人也不可批评吃的人，因为两者都蒙上帝接纳。你是谁，竟然批评别人的仆人？他做得是否合宜，自然有他的主人负责。他必能做得合宜，因为主能使他做得合宜。有人认为这日比那日好，有人认为天天都一样，各人应该照着自己的信念拿定主意。守日子的人是为主而守，吃的人是为主而吃，因为他感谢上帝；不吃的人是为主不吃，他也同样感谢上帝。

“所以，我认为不应该为难那些信上帝的外族人。我们只须写信吩咐他们远避被偶像玷污之物，不可淫乱，不可吃血和勒死的牲畜。因为自古以来，在各城都有人宣讲摩西的律法，每逢安息日，都有人在会堂里诵读。”

他们还派人作伪证说：“司提凡常常讲侮辱圣地和律法的话。我们听见他说那个拿撒勒人耶稣要毁坏圣殿，还要摒弃摩西传给我们的规矩。”

如果蒙召时已经受了割礼，不必消除割礼；如果蒙召时没有受割礼，也不必去受割礼。受不受割礼都算不得什么，最要紧的是遵行上帝的诫命。

保罗打算带提摩太去传福音。因为当地的犹太人都知道提摩太的父亲是希腊人，保罗就给提摩太行了割礼。
