But some of the believers who belonged to the party of the Pharisees stood up and said,“ It is necessary to circumcise them and to command them to keep the law of Moses.”

When they heard this they became silent. And they glorified God, saying,“ So then, God has given repentance resulting in life even to the Gentiles.”

Sing a new song to the LORD, for he has performed wonders; his right hand and holy arm have won him victory.The LORD has made his victory known; he has revealed his righteousness in the sight of the nations.He has remembered his love and faithfulness to the house of Israel; all the ends of the earth have seen our God’s victory.

on that day when he comes to be glorified by his saints and to be marveled at by all those who have believed, because our testimony among you was believed.

So those who accepted his message were baptized, and that day about three thousand people were added to them.

After threatening them further, they released them. They found no way to punish them because the people were all giving glory to God over what had been done.

But many of those who heard the message believed, and the number of the men came to about five thousand.

So the word of God spread, the disciples in Jerusalem increased greatly in number, and a large group of priests became obedient to the faith.

You who fear the LORD, praise him! All you descendants of Jacob, honor him! All you descendants of Israel, revere him!

So he told them this parable:“ What man among you, who has a hundred sheep and loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the open field and go after the lost one until he finds it?When he has found it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders,and coming home, he calls his friends and neighbors together, saying to them,‘ Rejoice with me, because I have found my lost sheep!’I tell you, in the same way, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people who don’t need repentance.“ Or what woman who has ten silver coins, if she loses one coin, does not light a lamp, sweep the house, and search carefully until she finds it?When she finds it, she calls her friends and neighbors together, saying,‘ Rejoice with me, because I have found the silver coin I lost!’I tell you, in the same way, there is joy in the presence of God’s angels over one sinner who repents.”

For just as rain and snow fall from heaven and do not return there without saturating the earth and making it germinate and sprout, and providing seed to sow and food to eat,so my word that comes from my mouth will not return to me empty, but it will accomplish what I please and will prosper in what I send it to do.”You will indeed go out with joy and be peacefully guided; the mountains and the hills will break into singing before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands.Instead of the thornbush, a cypress will come up, and instead of the brier, a myrtle will come up; this will stand as a monument for the LORD, an everlasting sign that will not be destroyed.

Truly I tell you, unless a grain of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains by itself. But if it dies, it produces much fruit.

Since we have heard that some without our authorization went out from us and troubled you with their words and unsettled your hearts,

so that you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ with one mind and one voice.Therefore welcome one another, just as Christ also welcomed you, to the glory of God.

All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to the LORD. All the families of the nations will bow down before you,

May his name endure forever; as long as the sun shines, may his fame increase. May all nations be blessed by him and call him blessed.Blessed be the LORD God, the God of Israel, who alone does wonders.Blessed be his glorious name forever; the whole earth is filled with his glory. Amen and amen.

“ Will I bring a baby to the point of birth and not deliver it?” says the LORD;“ or will I who deliver, close the womb?” says your God.Be glad for Jerusalem and rejoice over her, all who love her. Rejoice greatly with her, all who mourn over her—so that you may nurse and be satisfied from her comforting breast and drink deeply and delight yourselves from her glorious breasts.For this is what the LORD says: I will make peace flow to her like a river, and the wealth of nations like a flood; you will nurse and be carried on her hip and bounced on her lap.As a mother comforts her son, so I will comfort you, and you will be comforted in Jerusalem.You will see, you will rejoice, and you will flourish like grass; then the LORD’s power will be revealed to his servants, but he will show his wrath against his enemies.

But we had to celebrate and rejoice, because this brother of yours was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’”

He presented another parable to them:“ The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed that a man took and sowed in his field.It’s the smallest of all the seeds, but when grown, it’s taller than the garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the sky come and nest in its branches.”He told them another parable:“ The kingdom of heaven is like leaven that a woman took and mixed into fifty pounds of flour until all of it was leavened.”

Meanwhile, a crowd of many thousands came together, so that they were trampling on one another. He began to say to his disciples first,“ Be on your guard against the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.

and so that Gentiles may glorify God for his mercy. As it is written, Therefore I will praise you among the Gentiles, and I will sing praise to your name.Again it says, Rejoice, you Gentiles, with his people!And again, Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles; let all the peoples praise him!And again, Isaiah says, The root of Jesse will appear, the one who rises to rule the Gentiles; the Gentiles will hope in him.Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you believe so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Then I heard something like the voice of a vast multitude, like the sound of cascading waters, and like the rumbling of loud thunder, saying, Hallelujah, because our Lord God, the Almighty, reigns!Let us be glad, rejoice, and give him glory, because the marriage of the Lamb has come, and his bride has prepared herself.

And they glorified God because of me.
