When he had come to us, he took Paul’s belt, bound his own hands and feet, and said,“ Thus says the Holy Spirit,‘ so shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man who owns this belt, and deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.’”

取葆樂腰巾、自束手足、曰：『聖神言猶太人在耶路撒冷對此巾所有者、亦將如是捆縛、以交付異族之手。』

Coming over to us, he took Paul’s belt, tied his own hands and feet with it and said,“ The Holy Spirit says,‘ In this way the Jewish leaders in Jerusalem will bind the owner of this belt and will hand him over to the Gentiles.’”

He came over to us. Then he took Paul’s belt and tied his own hands and feet with it. He said,“ The Holy Spirit says,‘ This is how the Jewish leaders in Jerusalem will tie up the owner of this belt. They will hand him over to the Gentiles.’ ”

And coming to us, he took Paul’s belt and bound his own feet and hands and said,“ Thus says the Holy Spirit,‘ This is how the Jews at Jerusalem will bind the man who owns this belt and deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.’”

He came over, took Paul’s belt, and bound his own feet and hands with it. Then he said,“ The Holy Spirit declares,‘ So shall the owner of this belt be bound by the Jewish leaders in Jerusalem and turned over to the Gentiles.’”

He came to us, took Paul’s belt, tied his own feet and hands, and said,“ This is what the Holy Spirit says:‘ In this way the Jews in Jerusalem will bind the man who owns this belt and deliver him over to the Gentiles.’”

And coming to us, and taking Paul’s girdle, he bound his own feet and hands, and said, Thus saith the Holy Spirit, So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man that owneth this girdle, and shall deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.

He came to us, took Paul’s belt, tied his own feet and hands, and said,“ This is what the Holy Spirit says:‘ In this way the Jews in Jerusalem will bind the man who owns this belt and deliver him into Gentile hands.’”

And when he was come unto us, he took Paul’s girdle, and bound his own hands and feet, and said, Thus saith the Holy Ghost, So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man that owneth this girdle, and shall deliver[ him] into the hands of the Gentiles.

He came to us, took Paul’s belt, tied his own hands and feet with it, and said,“ The Holy Spirit says this:‘ This is the way the Jews in Jerusalem will tie up the man whose belt this is, and will hand him over to the Gentiles.’”

Coming to us and taking Paul’s belt, he bound his own feet and hands, and said,“ The Holy Spirit says:‘ So the Jews at Jerusalem will bind the man who owns this belt, and will deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.’”

Then the commander came near and took him, and commanded him to be bound with two chains; and he asked who he was and what he had done.

And as Samuel turned around to go away, Saul seized the edge of his robe, and it tore.So Samuel said to him,“ The Lord has torn the kingdom of Israel from you today, and has given it to a neighbor of yours, who is better than you.

Thus the Lord said to me:“ Go and get yourself a linen sash, and put it around your waist, but do not put it in water.”So I got a sash according to the word of the Lord, and put it around my waist.And the word of the Lord came to me the second time, saying,“ Take the sash that you acquired, which is around your waist, and arise, go to the Euphrates, and hide it there in a hole in the rock.”So I went and hid it by the Euphrates, as the Lord commanded me.Now it came to pass after many days that the Lord said to me,“ Arise, go to the Euphrates, and take from there the sash which I commanded you to hide there.”Then I went to the Euphrates and dug, and I took the sash from the place where I had hidden it; and there was the sash, ruined. It was profitable for nothing.Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying,“ Thus says the Lord:‘ In this manner I will ruin the pride of Judah and the great pride of Jerusalem.This evil people, who refuse to hear My words, who follow the dictates of their hearts, and walk after other gods to serve them and worship them, shall be just like this sash which is profitable for nothing.For as the sash clings to the waist of a man, so I have caused the whole house of Israel and the whole house of Judah to cling to Me,’ says the Lord,‘ that they may become My people, for renown, for praise, and for glory; but they would not hear.’

except that the Holy Spirit testifies in every city, saying that chains and tribulations await me.

For this reason therefore I have called for you, to see you and speak with you, because for the hope of Israel I am bound with this chain.”

But after two years Porcius Festus succeeded Felix; and Felix, wanting to do the Jews a favor, left Paul bound.

Now Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah had made horns of iron for himself; and he said,“ Thus says the Lord:‘ With these you shall gore the Syrians until they are destroyed.’”

And as they bound him with thongs, Paul said to the centurion who stood by,“ Is it lawful for you to scourge a man who is a Roman, and uncondemned?”

To them it was revealed that, not to themselves, but to us they were ministering the things which now have been reported to you through those who have preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven— things which angels desire to look into.

Now it happened at that time, when Jeroboam went out of Jerusalem, that the prophet Ahijah the Shilonite met him on the way; and he had clothed himself with a new garment, and the two were alone in the field.Then Ahijah took hold of the new garment that was on him, and tore it into twelve pieces.And he said to Jeroboam,“ Take for yourself ten pieces, for thus says the Lord, the God of Israel:‘ Behold, I will tear the kingdom out of the hand of Solomon and will give ten tribes to you

“ Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and to the scribes; and they will condemn Him to death,and deliver Him to the Gentiles to mock and to scourge and to crucify. And the third day He will rise again.”

Now when they had gone through Phrygia and the region of Galatia, they were forbidden by the Holy Spirit to preach the word in Asia.

And Paul said,“ I would to God that not only you, but also all who hear me today, might become both almost and altogether such as I am, except for these chains.”

So when they did not agree among themselves, they departed after Paul had said one word:“ The Holy Spirit spoke rightly through Isaiah the prophet to our fathers,

And it came to pass after three days that Paul called the leaders of the Jews together. So when they had come together, he said to them:“ Men and brethren, though I have done nothing against our people or the customs of our fathers, yet I was delivered as a prisoner from Jerusalem into the hands of the Romans,

I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called,

Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says:“ Today, if you will hear His voice,

As they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said,“ Now separate to Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.”

for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

And Elisha said to him,“ Take a bow and some arrows.” So he took himself a bow and some arrows.Then he said to the king of Israel,“ Put your hand on the bow.” So he put his hand on it, and Elisha put his hands on the king’s hands.And he said,“ Open the east window”; and he opened it. Then Elisha said,“ Shoot”; and he shot. And he said,“ The arrow of the LORD’s deliverance and the arrow of deliverance from Syria; for you must strike the Syrians at Aphek till you have destroyed them.”Then he said,“ Take the arrows”; so he took them. And he said to the king of Israel,“ Strike the ground”; so he struck three times, and stopped.And the man of God was angry with him, and said,“ You should have struck five or six times; then you would have struck Syria till you had destroyed it! But now you will strike Syria only three times.”

For this reason I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus for you Gentiles—

for you had compassion on me in my chains, and joyfully accepted the plundering of your goods, knowing that you have a better and an enduring possession for yourselves in heaven.

I have also spoken by the prophets, And have multiplied visions; I have given symbols through the witness of the prophets.”

For I will show him how many things he must suffer for My name’s sake.”

When morning came, all the chief priests and elders of the people plotted against Jesus to put Him to death.And when they had bound Him, they led Him away and delivered Him to Pontius Pilate the governor.

for which I suffer trouble as an evildoer, even to the point of chains; but the word of God is not chained.

“ Then you shall break the flask in the sight of the men who go with you,and say to them,‘ Thus says the Lord of hosts:“ Even so I will break this people and this city, as one breaks a potter’s vessel, which cannot be made whole again; and they shall bury them in Tophet till there is no place to bury.

And the people said to me,“ Will you not tell us what these things signify to us, that you behave so?”Then I answered them,“ The word of the Lord came to me, saying,‘ speak to the house of Israel,“ Thus says the Lord God:‘ Behold, I will profane My sanctuary, your arrogant boast, the desire of your eyes, the delight of your soul; and your sons and daughters whom you left behind shall fall by the sword.And you shall do as I have done; you shall not cover your lips nor eat man’s bread of sorrow.Your turbans shall be on your heads and your sandals on your feet; you shall neither mourn nor weep, but you shall pine away in your iniquities and mourn with one another.Thus Ezekiel is a sign to you; according to all that he has done you shall do; and when this comes, you shall know that I am the Lord God.’”‘ And you, son of man— will it not be in the day when I take from them their stronghold, their joy and their glory, the desire of their eyes, and that on which they set their minds, their sons and their daughters:
