And when he was come unto us, he took Paul’s girdle, and bound his own hands and feet, and said, Thus saith the Holy Ghost, So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man that owneth this girdle, and shall deliver[ him] into the hands of the Gentiles.

Coming over to us, he took Paul’s belt, tied his own hands and feet with it and said,“ The Holy Spirit says,‘ In this way the Jewish leaders in Jerusalem will bind the owner of this belt and will hand him over to the Gentiles.’”

He came over to us. Then he took Paul’s belt and tied his own hands and feet with it. He said,“ The Holy Spirit says,‘ This is how the Jewish leaders in Jerusalem will tie up the owner of this belt. They will hand him over to the Gentiles.’ ”

And coming to us, he took Paul’s belt and bound his own feet and hands and said,“ Thus says the Holy Spirit,‘ This is how the Jews at Jerusalem will bind the man who owns this belt and deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.’”

He came over, took Paul’s belt, and bound his own feet and hands with it. Then he said,“ The Holy Spirit declares,‘ So shall the owner of this belt be bound by the Jewish leaders in Jerusalem and turned over to the Gentiles.’”

He came to us, took Paul’s belt, tied his own feet and hands, and said,“ This is what the Holy Spirit says:‘ In this way the Jews in Jerusalem will bind the man who owns this belt and deliver him over to the Gentiles.’”

Then the chief captain came near, and took him, and commanded[ him] to be bound with two chains; and demanded who he was, and what he had done.

And as Samuel turned about to go away, he laid hold upon the skirt of his mantle, and it rent.And Samuel said unto him, The LORD hath rent the kingdom of Israel from thee this day, and hath given it to a neighbour of thine,[ that is] better than thou.

Thus saith the LORD unto me, Go and get thee a linen girdle, and put it upon thy loins, and put it not in water.So I got a girdle according to the word of the LORD, and put[ it] on my loins.And the word of the LORD came unto me the second time, saying,Take the girdle that thou hast got, which[ is] upon thy loins, and arise, go to Euphrates, and hide it there in a hole of the rock.So I went, and hid it by Euphrates, as the LORD commanded me.And it came to pass after many days, that the LORD said unto me, Arise, go to Euphrates, and take the girdle from thence, which I commanded thee to hide there.Then I went to Euphrates, and digged, and took the girdle from the place where I had hid it: and, behold, the girdle was marred, it was profitable for nothing.Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,Thus saith the LORD, After this manner will I mar the pride of Judah, and the great pride of Jerusalem.This evil people, which refuse to hear my words, which walk in the imagination of their heart, and walk after other gods, to serve them, and to worship them, shall even be as this girdle, which is good for nothing.For as the girdle cleaveth to the loins of a man, so have I caused to cleave unto me the whole house of Israel and the whole house of Judah, saith the LORD; that they might be unto me for a people, and for a name, and for a praise, and for a glory: but they would not hear.

Save that the Holy Ghost witnesseth in every city, saying that bonds and afflictions abide me.

For this cause therefore have I called for you, to see[ you], and to speak with[ you]: because that for the hope of Israel I am bound with this chain.

But after two years Porcius Festus came into Felix’ room: and Felix, willing to shew the Jews a pleasure, left Paul bound.

And Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah made him horns of iron: and he said, Thus saith the LORD, With these shalt thou push the Syrians, until thou have consumed them.

And as they bound him with thongs, Paul said unto the centurion that stood by, Is it lawful for you to scourge a man that is a Roman, and uncondemned?

Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.

And it came to pass at that time when Jeroboam went out of Jerusalem, that the prophet Ahijah the Shilonite found him in the way; and he had clad himself with a new garment; and they two[ were] alone in the field:And Ahijah caught the new garment that[ was] on him, and rent it[ in] twelve pieces:And he said to Jeroboam, Take thee ten pieces: for thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel, Behold, I will rend the kingdom out of the hand of Solomon, and will give ten tribes to thee:

Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be betrayed unto the chief priests and unto the scribes, and they shall condemn him to death,And shall deliver him to the Gentiles to mock, and to scourge, and to crucify[ him]: and the third day he shall rise again.

Now when they had gone throughout Phrygia and the region of Galatia, and were forbidden of the Holy Ghost to preach the word in Asia,

And Paul said, I would to God, that not only thou, but also all that hear me this day, were both almost, and altogether such as I am, except these bonds.

And when they agreed not among themselves, they departed, after that Paul had spoken one word, Well spake the Holy Ghost by Esaias the prophet unto our fathers,

And it came to pass, that after three days Paul called the chief of the Jews together: and when they were come together, he said unto them, Men[ and] brethren, though I have committed nothing against the people, or customs of our fathers, yet was I delivered prisoner from Jerusalem into the hands of the Romans.

I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,

Wherefore( as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice,

As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.

For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

And Elisha said unto him, Take bow and arrows. And he took unto him bow and arrows.And he said to the king of Israel, Put thine hand upon the bow. And he put his hand[ upon it]: and Elisha put his hands upon the king’s hands.And he said, Open the window eastward. And he opened[ it]. Then Elisha said, Shoot. And he shot. And he said, The arrow of the LORD’S deliverance, and the arrow of deliverance from Syria: for thou shalt smite the Syrians in Aphek, till thou have consumed[ them].And he said, Take the arrows. And he took[ them]. And he said unto the king of Israel, Smite upon the ground. And he smote thrice, and stayed.And the man of God was wroth with him, and said, Thou shouldest have smitten five or six times; then hadst thou smitten Syria till thou hadst consumed[ it]: whereas now thou shalt smite Syria[ but] thrice.

For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles,

For ye had compassion of me in my bonds, and took joyfully the spoiling of your goods, knowing in yourselves that ye have in heaven a better and an enduring substance.

I have also spoken by the prophets, and I have multiplied visions, and used similitudes, by the ministry of the prophets.

For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name’s sake.

When the morning was come, all the chief priests and elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put him to death:And when they had bound him, they led[ him] away, and delivered him to Pontius Pilate the governor.

Wherein I suffer trouble, as an evil doer,[ even] unto bonds; but the word of God is not bound.

Then shalt thou break the bottle in the sight of the men that go with thee,And shalt say unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Even so will I break this people and this city, as[ one] breaketh a potter’s vessel, that cannot be made whole again: and they shall bury[ them] in Tophet, till[ there be] no place to bury.

And the people said unto me, Wilt thou not tell us what these[ things are] to us, that thou doest[ so]?Then I answered them, The word of the LORD came unto me, saying,Speak unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will profane my sanctuary, the excellency of your strength, the desire of your eyes, and that which your soul pitieth; and your sons and your daughters whom ye have left shall fall by the sword.And ye shall do as I have done: ye shall not cover[ your] lips, nor eat the bread of men.And your tires[ shall be] upon your heads, and your shoes upon your feet: ye shall not mourn nor weep; but ye shall pine away for your iniquities, and mourn one toward another.Thus Ezekiel is unto you a sign: according to all that he hath done shall ye do: and when this cometh, ye shall know that I[ am] the Lord GOD.Also, thou son of man,[ shall it] not[ be] in the day when I take from them their strength, the joy of their glory, the desire of their eyes, and that whereupon they set their minds, their sons and their daughters,
