If others have this right to receive benefits from you, don’t we even more? Nevertheless, we have not made use of this right; instead, we endure everything so that we will not hinder the gospel of Christ.

When I was present with you and in need, I did not burden anyone, since the brothers who came from Macedonia supplied my needs. I have kept myself, and will keep myself, from burdening you in any way.

Make room for us in your hearts. We have wronged no one, corrupted no one, taken advantage of no one.

What then is my reward? To preach the gospel and offer it free of charge and not make full use of my rights in the gospel.

For my part I have used none of these rights, nor have I written these things that they may be applied in my case. For it would be better for me to die than for anyone to deprive me of my boast!

I will return it to you.”“ You haven’t wronged us, you haven’t mistreated us, and you haven’t taken anything from anyone,” they responded.He said to them,“ The LORD is a witness against you, and his anointed is a witness today that you haven’t found anything in my hand.”“ He is a witness,” they said.

Then Moses became angry and said to the LORD,“ Don’t respect their offering. I have not taken one donkey from them or mistreated a single one of them.”
