吾兒當朝乾夕惕忍辱負重、毅然以光大聖道為己任、克盡司鐸之職。

予之書此、非欲愧爾、乃欲規爾。予視爾如愛兒、有所見不忍不告也。

最宜和睦。如有不守本分者、望兄弟加以勸告。鼓勵懦者、扶持弱者、寬裕忍耐、足以有容。

如望見法利塞及撒杜責之徒、亦群來受洗、訓之曰：『蝮種、誰警爾以避將臨之怒耶？

是故爾宜朝乾夕惕、虛靈不寐、恆自祈禱、庶得倖免將臨諸患、而立於人子之前。』

亦未嘗仰給於人、惟日夜躬自操作、以免加累於爾。

我未來此京有年矣、今番來此、原為齎款賑濟國人且獻禮以還願。

我來有如不速之客。人能恆自警惕、守其所服、毋使赤身露體、自彰其醜、斯為有福。

兄弟當猶憶吾儕傳授天主福音時之如何艱辛困苦、躬自操作、夙夜不遑、以免加爾之累。至吾儕之與爾等信徒相處、如何潔身自好、正直無私、無可指摘、此不惟爾等知之、即天主亦可為證也。
