我們到馬其頓的時候，身心無法安歇，面臨著重重患難，外有衝突，內有恐懼。

我有這樣的把握，所以早就計劃去你們那裡，使你們有兩次蒙福的機會。

保羅繼續在哥林多逗留了相當時日，才向弟兄姊妹道別。他和百基拉、亞居拉乘船前往敘利亞。保羅因為許過願，就在堅革哩剃了頭髮。

一月十二日，我們從亞哈瓦河邊出發上耶路撒冷。我們的上帝施恩幫助我們，救我們脫離仇敵和路上埋伏之人的攻擊。

當天晚上，保羅在異象中看見一個馬其頓人站在那裡懇求他：「請到馬其頓來幫助我們！」

天亮後，猶太人設下陰謀，並起誓說：「不殺保羅，誓不吃喝！」有四十多人參與了這個陰謀。他們去見祭司長和長老，說：「我們已經發了誓，不殺保羅不吃飯。請你們和公會出面通知千夫長，請他把保羅押到你們這裡來，就說要進一步審訊他。我們準備在他到達之前殺掉他！」

他們若說：「跟我們來吧，我們去埋伏殺人，暗害無辜者取樂；

後來我又到了敘利亞和基利迦地區。

這些事以後，保羅決定經過馬其頓和亞該亞回到耶路撒冷。他說：「到了那裡之後，我必須去羅馬看看。」

我的子民中有惡人，他們像捕鳥人一樣埋伏等候，設下網羅陷害人。

塞浦路斯遙遙在望，船從該島的南面繞過，一直駛向敘利亞。因為船要在泰爾卸貨，我們就在那裡上了岸，
