“ So guard yourselves and God’s people. Feed and shepherd God’s flock— his church, purchased with his own blood— over which the Holy Spirit has appointed you as leaders.

While they were serving the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said,“ Set Barnabas and Saul apart for Me for the work to which I have called them.”

Do not offend Jews or Greeks, or the church of God;

knowing that you were not redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold from your futile way of life inherited from your forefathers,but with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ.

The elders who lead well are to be considered worthy of double honor, especially those who work hard at preaching and teaching.

An overseer, then, must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, temperate, self controlled, respectable, hospitable, skillful in teaching,

Paul and Timothy, bond servants of Christ Jesus, To all the saints in Christ Jesus who are in Philippi, including the overseers and deacons:

Shepherd Your people with Your scepter, The flock of Your possession Which lives by itself in the woodland, In the midst of a fruitful field. Let them feed in Bashan and Gilead As in the days of old.

For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit;to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit,and to another the effecting of miracles, and to another prophecy, and to another the distinguishing of spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, and to another the interpretation of tongues.But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually just as He wills.

Now when they had finished breakfast, Jesus* said to Simon Peter,“ Simon, son of John, do you love Me more than these?” He* said to Him,“ Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.” He* said to him,“ Tend My lambs.”He* said to him again, a second time,“ Simon, son of John, do you love Me?” He* said to Him,“ Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.” He* said to him,“ Shepherd My sheep.”He* said to him the third time,“ Simon, son of John, do you love Me?” Peter was hurt because He said to him the third time,“ Do you love Me?” And he said to Him,“ Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You.” Jesus* said to him,“ Tend My sheep.

Therefore I run in such a way as not to run aimlessly; I box in such a way, as to avoid hitting air;but I strictly discipline my body and make it my slave, so that, after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified.

For the overseer must be beyond reproach as God’s steward, not self willed, not quick tempered, not overindulging in wine, not a bully, not greedy for money,

And God has appointed in the church, first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, and various kinds of tongues.All are not apostles, are they? All are not prophets, are they? All are not teachers, are they? All are not workers of miracles, are they?All do not have gifts of healings, do they? All do not speak with tongues, do they? All do not interpret, do they?But earnestly desire the greater gifts. And yet, I am going to show you a far better way.

He also chose His servant David And took him from the sheepfolds;From the care of the ewes with nursing lambs He brought him To shepherd Jacob His people, And Israel His inheritance.So he shepherded them according to the integrity of his heart, And guided them with his skillful hands.

‘ And you, Bethlehem, land of Judah, Are by no means least among the leaders of Judah; For from you will come forth a Ruler Who will shepherd My people Israel.’ ”

“ Raise your eyes and see Those coming from the north. Where is the flock that was given you, Your beautiful sheep?

You eat the fat and clothe yourselves with the wool, you slaughter the fat sheep without feeding the flock.

But the Lord desired To crush Him, causing Him grief; If He renders Himself as a guilt offering, He will see His offspring, He will prolong His days, And the good pleasure of the Lord will prosper in His hand.As a result of the anguish of His soul, He will see it and be satisfied; By His knowledge the Righteous One, My Servant, will justify the many, For He will bear their wrongdoings.Therefore, I will allot Him a portion with the great, And He will divide the plunder with the strong, Because He poured out His life unto death, And was counted with wrongdoers; Yet He Himself bore the sin of many, And interceded for the wrongdoers.

The lips of the righteous feed many, But fools die for lack of understanding.

He said to the judges,“ Consider what you are doing, for you do not judge for mankind but for the Lord who is with you when you render judgment.Now then, let the fear of the Lord be upon you; be careful about what you do, for the Lord our God will have no part in injustice or partiality, or in the taking of a bribe.”

Tell Archippus,“ See to the ministry which you have received in the Lord, so that you may fulfill it.”

But if you do not listen to it, My soul will weep in secret for such pride; And my eyes will shed And stream down tears, Because the flock of the Lord has been taken captive.

who is a first installment of our inheritance, in regard to the redemption of God’s own possession, to the praise of His glory.

This is what the Lord my God says:“ Pasture the flock doomed to slaughter.

And He gave some as apostles, some as prophets, some as evangelists, some as pastors and teachers,

And I also say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of Hades will not overpower it.

Do not neglect the spiritual gift within you, which was granted to you through words of prophecy with the laying on of hands by the council of elders.

in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

“ But be on your guard, so that your hearts will not be weighed down with dissipation and drunkenness and the worries of life, and that this day will not come on you suddenly, like a trap;

See to it that no one comes short of the grace of God; that no root of bitterness springing up causes trouble, and by it many become defiled;

For you have heard of my former way of life in Judaism, how I used to persecute the church of God beyond measure and tried to destroy it;

From Miletus he sent word to Ephesus and called to himself the elders of the church.

“ As for you, My sheep, the sheep of My pasture, you are mankind, and I am your God,” declares the Lord God.

When they had appointed elders for them in every church, having prayed with fasting, they entrusted them to the Lord in whom they had believed.

“ But be on your guard; for they will hand you over to the courts, and you will be flogged in the synagogues, and you will stand before governors and kings for My sake, as a testimony to them.

Then His people remembered the days of old, of Moses. Where is He who brought them up out of the sea with the shepherds of His flock? Where is He who put His Holy Spirit in the midst of them,

and not through the blood of goats and calves, but through His own blood, He entered the holy place once for all time, having obtained eternal redemption.For if the blood of goats and bulls, and the ashes of a heifer sprinkling those who have been defiled, sanctify for the cleansing of the flesh,how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

What! Do you not have houses in which to eat and drink? Or do you despise the church of God and shame those who have nothing? What am I to say to you? Shall I praise you? In this I do not praise you.

Tell me, you whom my soul loves, Where do you pasture your flock, Where do you have it lie down at noon? For why should I be like one who veils herself Beside the flocks of your companions?”“ If you yourself do not know, Most beautiful among women, Go out on the trail of the flock, And pasture your young goats By the tents of the shepherds.

Hear the word of the Lord, you nations, And declare it in the coastlands far away, And say,“ He who scattered Israel will gather him, And He will keep him as a shepherd keeps his flock.”
