長老既至、保羅謂之曰、自我初來亞西亞之日、以至於今、我在爾曹中始終如何、爾曹知之、

既至、葆樂謂之曰：我自初來亞細亞之日、平素如何與爾相處、爾所知也；

When they arrived, he said to them:“ You know how I lived the whole time I was with you, from the first day I came into the province of Asia.

When they arrived he declared,“ You know that from the day I set foot in the province of Asia until now

And when they had come to him, he said to them:“ You know, from the first day that I came to Asia, in what manner I always lived among you,

And when they were come to him, he said unto them, Ye yourselves know, from the first day that I set foot in Asia, after what manner I was with you all the time,

And when they came to him, he said to them:“ You know, from the first day I set foot in Asia, how I was with you the whole time—

And when they were come to him, he said unto them, Ye know, from the first day that I came into Asia, after what manner I have been with you at all seasons,

This continued for two years, so that all the residents of Asia heard the word of the Lord, both Jews and Greeks.

And it happened that while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul passed through the inland country and came to Ephesus. There he found some disciples.

And they came to Ephesus, and he left them there, but he himself went into the synagogue and reasoned with the Jews.

because our gospel came to you not only in word, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit and with full conviction. You know what kind of men we proved to be among you for your sake.And you became imitators of us and of the Lord, for you received the word in much affliction, with the joy of the Holy Spirit,

For you yourselves know how you ought to imitate us, because we were not idle when we were with you,nor did we eat anyone’s bread without paying for it, but with toil and labor we worked night and day, that we might not be a burden to any of you.It was not because we do not have that right, but to give you in ourselves an example to imitate.

We put no obstacle in anyone’s way, so that no fault may be found with our ministry,but as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: by great endurance, in afflictions, hardships, calamities,beatings, imprisonments, riots, labors, sleepless nights, hunger;by purity, knowledge, patience, kindness, the Holy Spirit, genuine love;by truthful speech, and the power of God; with the weapons of righteousness for the right hand and for the left;through honor and dishonor, through slander and praise. We are treated as impostors, and yet are true;as unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and behold, we live; as punished, and yet not killed;as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, yet possessing everything.We have spoken freely to you, Corinthians; our heart is wide open.

You, however, have followed my teaching, my conduct, my aim in life, my faith, my patience, my love, my steadfastness,

For you yourselves know, brothers, that our coming to you was not in vain.But though we had already suffered and been shamefully treated at Philippi, as you know, we had boldness in our God to declare to you the gospel of God in the midst of much conflict.For our appeal does not spring from error or impurity or any attempt to deceive,but just as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, so we speak, not to please man, but to please God who tests our hearts.For we never came with words of flattery, as you know, nor with a pretext for greed— God is witness.Nor did we seek glory from people, whether from you or from others, though we could have made demands as apostles of Christ.But we were gentle among you, like a nursing mother taking care of her own children.So, being affectionately desirous of you, we were ready to share with you not only the gospel of God but also our own selves, because you had become very dear to us.For you remember, brothers, our labor and toil: we worked night and day, that we might not be a burden to any of you, while we proclaimed to you the gospel of God.You are witnesses, and God also, how holy and righteous and blameless was our conduct toward you believers.

For our boast is this, the testimony of our conscience, that we behaved in the world with simplicity and godly sincerity, not by earthly wisdom but by the grace of God, and supremely so toward you.
