这样，各教会在信仰上得了坚固，人数也天天增加。

因为这应许是给你们和你们的儿女，以及所有在远处的人，就是主我们的神所召来的人。”

原来，十字架的福音对那些正在灭亡的人来说，是愚拙的；但是对我们这些正在被拯救的人来说，却是神的大能。

虽然其他的人没有一个敢与他们交往，但民众都尊敬他们。信主的人越发增加，连男带女成群结队。

于是领受他话的人就受了洗；那一天大约增加了三千人。

——这是因为巴拿巴是个好人，充满圣灵和信仰。于是有一大群人归向了主。

外邦人听了这话就感到欢喜，不住地荣耀主的福音，凡是被预定进入永恒生命的人都信了。

但是，当神我们救主的仁慈和他对人的爱显明的时候，他拯救了我们；这不是本于我们所做的义行，而是照着他的怜悯，藉着重生的洗涤和圣灵的更新。

要知道，如此服事基督的人，是蒙神喜悦的，也是受人赞许的。

而且，神预先所定下的人，神又召他们来；所召来的人，又称他们为义；所称为义的人，又使他们得荣耀。

以赛亚论到以色列人，呼喊说：“以色列子民的人数虽然多如海沙，将要得救的却是剩余的少数。

照样，在现今的时刻也有剩余的少数，就是藉着恩典蒙拣选的人。既然藉着恩典，就不再本于行为了；否则，恩典就不再是恩典了。所以怎么样呢？以色列人并没有获得他们所寻求的，蒙拣选的人却获得了，而其余的人都成了刚硬的，

耶稣的智慧和身量，以及神和人对他的喜爱，都不断增长。

官长们又威吓他们一番，为了民众的缘故把他们释放了。官长们找不出任何理由来惩罚他们，因为众人都为所发生的事不住地荣耀神。

可是他们不知道怎样下手，因为民众都倾心听他。

使徒们大有能力地为主耶稣的复活做见证，并且在他们每个人身上都有极大的恩典。
