They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity—

Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts,

On the first day of the week, we gathered with the local believers to share in the Lord’s Supper. Paul was preaching to them, and since he was leaving the next day, he kept talking until midnight.

Teach me your ways, O Lord, that I may live according to your truth! Grant me purity of heart, so that I may honor you.

We can say with confidence and a clear conscience that we have lived with a God given holiness and sincerity in all our dealings. We have depended on God’s grace, not on our own human wisdom. That is how we have conducted ourselves before the world, and especially toward you.

He brought them into his house and set a meal before them, and he and his entire household rejoiced because they all believed in God.

All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals( including the Lord’s Supper), and to prayer.

When they arrived, they went to the upstairs room of the house where they were staying. Here are the names of those who were present: Peter, John, James, Andrew, Philip, Thomas, Bartholomew, Matthew, James( son of Alphaeus), Simon( the zealot), and Judas( son of James).They all met together and were constantly united in prayer, along with Mary the mother of Jesus, several other women, and the brothers of Jesus.

And Nehemiah continued,“ Go and celebrate with a feast of rich foods and sweet drinks, and share gifts of food with people who have nothing prepared. This is a sacred day before our Lord. Don’t be dejected and sad, for the joy of the Lord is your strength!”

If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly.

And they spent all of their time in the Temple, praising God.

When you meet together, you are not really interested in the Lord’s Supper.For some of you hurry to eat your own meal without sharing with others. As a result, some go hungry while others get drunk.What? Don’t you have your own homes for eating and drinking? Or do you really want to disgrace God’s church and shame the poor? What am I supposed to say? Do you want me to praise you? Well, I certainly will not praise you for this!

This is a time to celebrate before the Lord your God at the designated place of worship he will choose for his name to be honored. Celebrate with your sons and daughters, your male and female servants, the Levites from your towns, and the foreigners, orphans, and widows who live among you.

Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything you do. Try to please them all the time, not just when they are watching you. Serve them sincerely because of your reverent fear of the Lord.

So go ahead. Eat your food with joy, and drink your wine with a happy heart, for God approves of this!

As they sat down to eat, he took the bread and blessed it. Then he broke it and gave it to them.

“ Your eye is like a lamp that provides light for your body. When your eye is healthy, your whole body is filled with light.

If I can thank God for the food and enjoy it, why should I be condemned for eating it?So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.

Peter and John went to the Temple one afternoon to take part in the three o’clock prayer service.

So at daybreak the apostles entered the Temple, as they were told, and immediately began teaching. When the high priest and his officials arrived, they convened the high council— the full assembly of the elders of Israel. Then they sent for the apostles to be brought from the jail for trial.

So clean the inside by giving gifts to the poor, and you will be clean all over.

There you and your families will feast in the presence of the Lord your God, and you will rejoice in all you have accomplished because the Lord your God has blessed you.

“ You must celebrate there in the presence of the Lord your God with your sons and daughters and all your servants. And remember to include the Levites who live in your towns, for they will receive no allotment of land among you.

But I fear that somehow your pure and undivided devotion to Christ will be corrupted, just as Eve was deceived by the cunning ways of the serpent.

Slaves, obey your earthly masters with deep respect and fear. Serve them sincerely as you would serve Christ.
