獄卒叫人拿了燈來，就衝進去，戰戰兢兢地俯伏在保羅和賽拉斯面前，然後領他們出來，說：「先生們，我應該做什麼才能得救呢？」他們說：「要信靠主耶穌，你和你一家人就將得救。」

他來了，要在關於罪、關於義、關於審判的事上，使世界知罪。關於罪，是因為世界不信我；關於義，是因為我到父那裡去，而你們不再看到我了；關於審判，是因為世界的那掌權者已經被定罪了。

「我說：『主啊！我該做什麼呢？』「主對我說：『起來，進大馬士革城去，在那裡你將被告知所指定你做的一切事。』

我從前活在律法之外，但是誡命一來，罪就活起來了，

他們聽了這話，從年長的開始，一個接一個地走開了。最後，只剩下耶穌和那站在中間的婦人。

但如果大家都做先知傳道，有一個不信的或不明白的人進來，他就會因這一切而知罪、受到責問，他心中隱祕的事就會顯露出來。這樣，他就會把臉伏在地上敬拜神，承認說：「神真的是在你們中間！」

他們聽了這些話就勃然大怒，向司提反咬牙切齒。

有些當兵的也問他，說：「那麼我們呢？我們該做什麼呢？」約翰說：「不要敲詐任何人，也不要勒索人，當以自己的糧餉為滿足。」

當保羅講論關於公義、自制和將來的審判時，菲利克斯感到害怕，就說：「你現在可以回去，我有了時間，就會叫你。」同時他也希望保羅送他錢，所以經常把他叫來，和他交談。

一些稅吏也來受洗。他們問約翰：「老師，我們該做什麼呢？」

他問：「主啊，你到底是誰？」主說：「我就是你所逼迫的耶穌。你起來，進城去！有人會告訴你應該做什麼。」

神的話語是有生命的，是有功效的；比任何雙刃的劍更鋒利，能刺透到魂和靈的分界，以及骨節和骨髓的分界，也能辨明心中的思想和意念；並且被造之物在神面前，沒有一樣不是顯明的；萬有在他眼前，都是赤裸敞開的；我們都要向他交代。

議會的人聽了，勃然大怒，就想要殺了他們。

「我必把恩惠和懇求的靈傾注於大衛家和耶路撒冷的居民。他們將仰望我，就是他們所刺的那一位。他們將為他哀哭，哀號如喪獨生子；他們將為他悲痛，悲痛如喪長子。
