I will show wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below, blood and fire and billows of smoke.

我要在天上地下顯出神蹟奇事，有血、有火、有煙柱。太陽將變為黑暗，月亮將變為血紅。在耶和華偉大可畏的日子臨到以前，這一切都要發生。

耶和華的大日子臨近了，臨近了，來得非常快速。聽！耶和華的日子的聲音。在那日，勇士要哀痛地號叫。那日是忿怒的日子，是困苦艱難的日子，是荒廢淒涼的日子，是黑暗幽冥的日子，是密雲漆黑的日子，是吹號吶喊，要攻打堅城，進擊高聳城樓的日子。我要使人受困苦，以致他們像瞎子行走，因為他們得罪耶和華。他們的鮮血必倒出，如倒灰塵一樣，他們的身體必被遺棄像糞土一般。在耶和華發怒的日子，他們的金銀也不能救他們，全地都要被他的妒火吞滅；因為他要徹底毀滅地上所有的居民，真是可怕的毀滅。

萬軍之耶和華說：“看哪！那日來到，像燒著的火爐一樣；驕傲的和作惡的，都必成為碎稭；那要來的日子，必把他們燒盡，不給他們留下一根一枝。可是，對你們敬畏我名的人，必有公義的太陽升起來；它的光線有醫治的功能；你們必出來跳躍，像欄裡的肥牛犢。”萬軍之耶和華說：“你們必踐踏惡人；在我施行作為的日子，他們必在你們腳掌之下成為塵土。“你們要謹記我僕人摩西的律法，就是我在何烈山為以色列眾人所吩咐他的律例和典章。“看哪！在耶和華大而可畏的日子來到以先，我必差派以利亞先知到你們那裡去。他要使父親的心轉向兒女，兒女的心轉向父親，免得我來擊打這地，以至完全毀滅。”（本章第1~6節在《馬索拉文本》為3:19~24）
