眾聞之、怒甚、呼曰、大哉、以弗所人之亞底米也、

眾聞此、怒甚、呼曰、大哉、以弗所人之亞氐米也、

眾聞此大怒、呼曰、大哉以弗所人之亞底米也、

眾聞之、憤甚、咆哮曰：『大哉依法所人之諦雅納！』

When they heard this, they were furious and began shouting:“ Great is Artemis of the Ephesians!”

This is the man who instructs everyone everywhere against our people and the Law and this place; and besides, he has even brought Greeks into the temple and has defiled this holy place!”For they had previously seen Trophimus the Ephesian in the city with him, and they thought that Paul had brought him into the temple.Then the whole city was provoked and the people rushed together, and taking hold of Paul they dragged him out of the temple, and immediately the doors were shut.While they were intent on killing him, a report came up to the commander of the Roman cohort that all Jerusalem was in confusion.

The coastlands have seen and are afraid; The ends of the earth tremble; They have approached and have come.Each one helps his neighbor And says to his brother,“ Be strong!”So the craftsman encourages the smelter, And he who smooths metal with the hammer encourages him who beats the anvil, Saying of the soldering,“ It is good”; And he fastens it with nails, So that it will not totter.

These have one purpose, and they give their power and authority to the beast.
