And when they heard[ these sayings], they were full of wrath, and cried out, saying, Great[ is] Diana of the Ephesians.

他們聽見，就滿心暴怒，喊着說：『偉大呀，以弗所人的亞底米！』

眾人聽了，就滿腔怒火，喊叫說：「以弗所人偉大的阿蒂米絲！」

眾聞之、怒甚、呼曰、大哉、以弗所人之亞底米也、

眾聞此、怒甚、呼曰、大哉、以弗所人之亞氐米也、

眾聞此大怒、呼曰、大哉以弗所人之亞底米也、

眾聞之、憤甚、咆哮曰：『大哉依法所人之諦雅納！』

When they heard this, they were furious and began shouting:“ Great is Artemis of the Ephesians!”

At this their anger boiled, and they began shouting,“ Great is Artemis of the Ephesians!”

And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who[ is] like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?

The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed,[ saying],

Crying out, Men of Israel, help: This is the man, that teacheth all[ men] every where against the people, and the law, and this place: and further brought Greeks also into the temple, and hath polluted this holy place.( For they had seen before with him in the city Trophimus an Ephesian, whom they supposed that Paul had brought into the temple.)And all the city was moved, and the people ran together: and they took Paul, and drew him out of the temple: and forthwith the doors were shut.And as they went about to kill him, tidings came unto the chief captain of the band, that all Jerusalem was in an uproar.

The isles saw[ it], and feared; the ends of the earth were afraid, drew near, and came.They helped every one his neighbour; and[ every one] said to his brother, Be of good courage.So the carpenter encouraged the goldsmith,[ and] he that smootheth[ with] the hammer him that smote the anvil, saying, It[ is] ready for the sodering: and he fastened it with nails,[ that] it should not be moved.

These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.

And when her masters saw that the hope of their gains was gone, they caught Paul and Silas, and drew[ them] into the marketplace unto the rulers,And brought them to the magistrates, saying, These men, being Jews, do exceedingly trouble our city,And teach customs, which are not lawful for us to receive, neither to observe, being Romans.And the multitude rose up together against them: and the magistrates rent off their clothes, and commanded to beat[ them].And when they had laid many stripes upon them, they cast[ them] into prison, charging the jailor to keep them safely:Who, having received such a charge, thrust them into the inner prison, and made their feet fast in the stocks.

A drought[ is] upon her waters; and they shall be dried up: for it[ is] the land of graven images, and they are mad upon[ their] idols.

And they took the bullock which was given them, and they dressed[ it], and called on the name of Baal from morning even until noon, saying, O Baal, hear us. But[ there was] no voice, nor any that answered. And they leaped upon the altar which was made.And it came to pass at noon, that Elijah mocked them, and said, Cry aloud: for he[ is] a god; either he is talking, or he is pursuing, or he is in a journey,[ or] peradventure he sleepeth, and must be awaked.And they cried aloud, and cut themselves after their manner with knives and lancets, till the blood gushed out upon them.And it came to pass, when midday was past, and they prophesied until the[ time] of the offering of the[ evening] sacrifice, that[ there was] neither voice, nor any to answer, nor any that regarded.

Therefore rejoice,[ ye] heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.

But when they knew that he was a Jew, all with one voice about the space of two hours cried out, Great[ is] Diana of the Ephesians.And when the townclerk had appeased the people, he said,[ Ye] men of Ephesus, what man is there that knoweth not how that the city of the Ephesians is a worshipper of the great goddess Diana, and of the[ image] which fell down from Jupiter?

And when they of Ashdod arose early on the morrow, behold, Dagon[ was] fallen upon his face to the earth before the ark of the LORD. And they took Dagon, and set him in his place again.And when they arose early on the morrow morning, behold, Dagon[ was] fallen upon his face to the ground before the ark of the LORD; and the head of Dagon and both the palms of his hands[ were] cut off upon the threshold; only[ the stump of] Dagon was left to him.Therefore neither the priests of Dagon, nor any that come into Dagon’s house, tread on the threshold of Dagon in Ashdod unto this day.

When they heard these things, they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed on him with[ their] teeth.

And he came to Ephesus, and left them there: but he himself entered into the synagogue, and reasoned with the Jews.
