And now, behold, I go bound in the spirit unto Jerusalem, not knowing the things that shall befall me there:

For Paul had determined to sail past Ephesus, that he might not have to spend time in Asia; for he was hastening, if it were possible for him, to be at Jerusalem the day of Pentecost.

And the night following the Lord stood by him, and said, Be of good cheer: for as thou hast testified concerning me at Jerusalem, so must thou bear witness also at Rome.

but taking his leave of them, and saying, I will return again unto you if God will, he set sail from Ephesus.

And I would not have you ignorant, brethren, that oftentimes I purposed to come unto you( and was hindered hitherto), that I might have some fruit in you also, even as in the rest of the Gentiles.

saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must stand before Cæsar: and lo, God hath granted thee all them that sail with thee.

Now I would have you know, brethren, that the things which happened unto me have fallen out rather unto the progress of the gospel;so that my bonds became manifest in Christ throughout the whole prætorian guard, and to all the rest;and that most of the brethren in the Lord, being confident through my bonds, are more abundantly bold to speak the word of God without fear.

And when we were come to Jerusalem, the brethren received us gladly.

so that ye became an ensample to all that believe in Macedonia and in Achaia.

And they went through the region of Phrygia and Galatia, having been forbidden of the Holy Spirit to speak the word in Asia;and when they were come over against Mysia, they assayed to go into Bithynia; and the Spirit of Jesus suffered them not;and passing by Mysia, they came down to Troas.And a vision appeared to Paul in the night: There was a man of Macedonia standing, beseeching him, and saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us.And when he had seen the vision, straightway we sought to go forth into Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to preach the gospel unto them.

But when Gallio was proconsul of Achaia, the Jews with one accord rose up against Paul and brought him before the judgment- seat,

And after the uproar ceased, Paul having sent for the disciples and exhorted them, took leave of them, and departed to go into Macedonia.And when he had gone through those parts, and had given them much exhortation, he came into Greece.And when he had spent three months there, and a plot was laid against him by the Jews as he was about to set sail for Syria, he determined to return through Macedonia.And there accompanied him as far as Asia, Sopater of Beroea, the son of Pyrrhus; and of the Thessalonians, Aristarchus and Secundus; and Gaius of Derbe, and Timothy; and of Asia, Tychicus and Trophimus.But these had gone before, and were waiting for us at Troas.And we sailed away from Philippi after the days of unleavened bread, and came unto them to Troas in five days; where we tarried seven days.

But I will come unto you, when I shall have passed through Macedonia; for I pass through Macedonia;

Who is he that saith, and it cometh to pass, when the Lord commandeth it not?

So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you also that are in Rome.

And in this confidence I was minded to come first unto you, that ye might have a second benefit;and by you to pass into Macedonia, and again from Macedonia to come unto you, and of you to be set forward on my journey unto Judæa.When I therefore was thus minded, did I show fickleness? or the things that I purpose, do I purpose according to the flesh, that with me there should be the yea yea and the nay nay?But as God is faithful, our word toward you is not yea and nay.

And having found the disciples, we tarried there seven days: and these said to Paul through the Spirit, that he should not set foot in Jerusalem.

But Paul said, I am standing before Cæsar’s judgment- seat, where I ought to be judged: to the Jews have I done no wrong, as thou also very well knowest.If then I am a wrong- doer, and have committed anything worthy of death, I refuse not to die; but if none of those things is true whereof these accuse me, no man can give me up unto them. I appeal unto Cæsar.Then Festus, when he had conferred with the council, answered, Thou hast appealed unto Cæsar: unto Cæsar shalt thou go.

And when we entered into Rome, Paul was suffered to abide by himself with the soldier that guarded him.

And when it was determined that we should sail for Italy, they delivered Paul and certain other prisoners to a centurion named Julius, of the Augustan band.

Then after the space of fourteen years I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, taking Titus also with me.

And coming to us, and taking Paul’s girdle, he bound his own feet and hands, and said, Thus saith the Holy Spirit, So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man that owneth this girdle, and shall deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.And when we heard these things, both we and they of that place besought him not to go up to Jerusalem.Then Paul answered, What do ye, weeping and breaking my heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.And when he would not be persuaded, we ceased, saying, The will of the Lord be done.And after these days we took up our baggage and went up to Jerusalem.

And he abode two whole years in his own hired dwelling, and received all that went in unto him,preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching the things concerning the Lord Jesus Christ with all boldness, none forbidding him.

Now after some years I came to bring alms to my nation, and offerings:amidst which they found me purified in the temple, with no crowd, nor yet with tumult: but there were certain Jews from Asia—

but now, having no more any place in these regions, and having these many years a longing to come unto you,whensoever I go unto Spain( for I hope to see you in my journey, and to be brought on my way thitherward by you, if first in some measure I shall have been satisfied with your company)—but now, I say, I go unto Jerusalem, ministering unto the saints.For it hath been the good pleasure of Macedonia and Achaia to make a certain contribution for the poor among the saints that are at Jerusalem.Yea, it hath been their good pleasure; and their debtors they are. For if the Gentiles have been made partakers of their spiritual things, they owe it to them also to minister unto them in carnal things.When therefore I have accomplished this, and have sealed to them this fruit, I will go on by you unto Spain.And I know that, when I come unto you, I shall come in the fulness of the blessing of Christ.
