and asked them,“ Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?”“ No,” they told him,“ we haven’t even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.”

問他們：「你們信的時候，是否領受了聖靈？」他們告訴他：「其實我們也沒有聽說過是否有聖靈。」

爾信時曾受聖神否、對曰、聖神之臨、我未之聞也、

爾曹信後、曾受聖神否、曰、聖神降否、我未之聞也、

問之曰、爾曹信後、曾受聖神否、曰、我儕未聞有聖神、

『爾奉教後曾受聖神否？』答曰：『否、且未聞有聖神也。』

He asked them,“ Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you became believers?”“ No,” they answered.“ We haven’t even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.”

And he said to them,“ Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” And they said,“ No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.”

“ Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” he asked them.“ No,” they replied,“ we haven’t even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.”

He said to them,“ Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” And they said to him,“ On the contrary, we have not even heard if there is a Holy Spirit.”

he said to them,“ Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” So they said to him,“ We have not so much as heard whether there is a Holy Spirit.”

and he said unto them, Did ye receive the Holy Spirit when ye believed? And they said unto him, Nay, we did not so much as hear whether the Holy Spirit was given.

and asked them,“ Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?”“ No,” they told him,“ we haven’t even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.”

He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.

and said to them,“ Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” They replied,“ No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.”

He said to them,“ Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” They said to him,“ No, we haven’t even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.”

He said this about the Spirit. Those who believed in Jesus were going to receive the Spirit, for the Spirit had not yet been given because Jesus had not yet been glorified.

So then, does God give you the Spirit and work miracles among you by your doing the works of the law? Or is it by believing what you heard—

“ As I began to speak, the Holy Spirit came down on them, just as on us at the beginning.I remembered the word of the Lord, how he said,‘ John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’If, then, God gave them the same gift that he also gave to us when we believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, how could I possibly hinder God?”

For I want very much to see you, so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to strengthen you,

Peter replied,“ Repent and be baptized, each of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.For the promise is for you and for your children, and for all who are far off, as many as the Lord our God will call.”

While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit came down on all those who heard the message.

And it will be in the last days, says God, that I will pour out my Spirit on all people; then your sons and your daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams.

Now concerning spiritual gifts: brothers and sisters, I do not want you to be unaware.You know that when you were pagans, you used to be enticed and led astray by mute idols.Therefore I want you to know that no one speaking by the Spirit of God says,“ Jesus is cursed,” and no one can say,“ Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit.Now there are different gifts, but the same Spirit.There are different ministries, but the same Lord.And there are different activities, but the same God works all of them in each person.A manifestation of the Spirit is given to each person for the common good:to one is given a message of wisdom through the Spirit, to another, a message of knowledge by the same Spirit,to another, faith by the same Spirit, to another, gifts of healing by the one Spirit,to another, the performing of miracles, to another, prophecy, to another, distinguishing between spirits, to another, different kinds of tongues, to another, interpretation of tongues.One and the same Spirit is active in all these, distributing to each person as he wills.

When they heard this, they were baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus.

Don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own,

After they went down there, they prayed for them so that the Samaritans might receive the Holy Spirit because he had not yet come down on any of them.( They had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)Then Peter and John laid their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.

Now Samuel did not yet know the LORD, because the word of the LORD had not yet been revealed to him.
