along with all the other men and boys of the household, whether they were born there or bought as servants. All were circumcised with him.

He was a devout, God fearing man, as was everyone in his household. He gave generously to the poor and prayed regularly to God.

So beginning with this same Scripture, Philip told him the Good News about Jesus.As they rode along, they came to some water, and the eunuch said,“ Look! There’s some water! Why can’t I be baptized?”

He brought them into his house and set a meal before them, and he and his entire household rejoiced because they all believed in God.

One of them was Lydia from Thyatira, a merchant of expensive purple cloth, who worshiped God. As she listened to us, the Lord opened her heart, and she accepted what Paul was saying.She and her household were baptized, and she asked us to be her guests.“ If you agree that I am a true believer in the Lord,” she said,“ come and stay at my home.” And she urged us until we agreed.

Then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.This promise is to you, to your children, and to those far away— all who have been called by the Lord our God.”Then Peter continued preaching for a long time, strongly urging all his listeners,“ Save yourselves from this crooked generation!”Those who believed what Peter said were baptized and added to the church that day— about 3,000 in all.
