他有话要对你说，藉这话你和你全家将要得救。’

可是腓利传讲有关神国的福音和耶稣基督之名的时候，他们就相信了，无论男女都受了洗，

耶稣对他们说：“你们要到全世界去，向万人传福音。信而受洗的人，将会得救；不信的人，将被定罪。

既然如此，人没有相信他，怎么能求告他呢？没有听说过他，怎么能相信他呢？没有人传讲，怎么能听到呢？如果没有奉差派，又怎么能去传讲呢？正如经上所记：“传讲美好福音的人，他们的脚踪多么美丽！”但是，并不是所有的人都顺从了福音，就如以赛亚所说：“主啊，我们所传的，有谁信了呢？”因此，信是由听而来，听是藉着基督的话而来。

这时候，来了一个名叫睚鲁的会堂主管。他一见到耶稣，就俯伏在耶稣脚前，

耶稣还在说话的时候，有些人从会堂主管的家里来，对睚鲁说：“你的女儿已经死了，何必再麻烦老师呢？”

他家里所有的男人，无论是家里出生的，还是用银子从外邦人那里买来的，都与他一起受了割礼。

所以你们要去，使万民成为我的门徒；奉父、子、圣灵的名给他们施洗；

诵读了律法和先知书以后，会堂主管们派人来对他们说：“各位兄弟，如果有什么鼓励民众的话，就请说吧。”

难道基督是被分割的吗？难道保罗为你们被钉十字架了吗？或者你们受洗是归入保罗的名吗？我感谢神，除了克里斯普和盖尤斯以外，我没有给你们任何人施过洗，免得有人说，你们是奉我的名受洗。我虽然也给司提法纳的一家人施过洗，此外我却不记得是否给其他人施过洗。要知道，基督差派我，不是为了施洗，而是为了传福音——并不用智慧的话语，免得基督的十字架落了空。

大家都抓住会堂主管索提尼，在审判台前殴打他。但伽利奥一概不管这些事。

因为我拣选了他，是要他吩咐他的子孙和后代家族谨守我耶和华的道路，施行公义和公正；好让我耶和华对亚伯拉罕所说的都应验在他身上。”

他是个敬虔的人，与全家都敬畏神；他慷慨地周济民众，常常向神祷告。

腓利就开口，从这一段经文开始，向他传讲耶稣的福音。当他们沿路前行的时候，来到一个有水的地方。太监说：“看哪，有水！有什么能阻止我受洗呢？”

他把保罗和赛拉斯领到家里，摆上饭食。他和全家人因为信了神，都欢欣跳跃。

有一个敬拜神的妇人，名叫莉迪娅，是锡亚蒂拉城卖紫色布的商人。她一直在听，主开启她的心窍，使她留心保罗所讲的话。当她和她的家人受了洗之后，她请求我们说：“如果你们判断我是主的信徒，请到我家里来住。”于是她极力挽留我们。

众人听了这话，觉得扎心，就对彼得和其他的使徒说：“各位兄弟，我们该做什么呢？”彼得对他们说：“你们应当悔改，每个人都当奉耶稣基督的名受洗，使你们的罪得赦免，就会领受所赐的圣灵。因为这应许是给你们和你们的儿女，以及所有在远处的人，就是主我们的神所召来的人。”彼得还说许多别的话郑重地做见证，又劝告他们说：“你们从这扭曲的世代中得救吧！”于是领受他话的人就受了洗；那一天大约增加了三千人。
