因為他當眾強有力地駁倒猶太人，用經文證明耶穌是基督。

我正處在兩難之間：我渴望離世與基督在一起，因為這是好得無比的；

於是弟兄們立刻送保羅往海邊去，賽拉斯和提摩太仍然留在庇里亞。護送保羅的人一直帶他到了雅典，然後領受了要賽拉斯和提摩太盡快到他這裡來的指示，就回去了。保羅在雅典等候賽拉斯和提摩太的時候，看見滿城都是偶像，他靈裡被激怒。

你們自己可以為我見證：我曾經說過『我不是基督，而是奉差派在他前面的。』

夜裡，保羅看見了一個異象：一個馬其頓人站著懇求他，說：「請你過來，到馬其頓來幫助我們。」

當時，使徒們、長老們和全教會都認為應該從他們當中揀選幾個人，派他們與保羅和巴拿巴一起到安提阿去。被選的是那稱為巴撒巴的猶大和賽拉斯，這兩個人在弟兄中是領頭的。

並派了我們的弟兄——在基督的福音工作上的神的同工提摩太，好在信仰上堅固你們、鼓勵你們，

安得烈先去找自己的哥哥西門，對他說：「我們找到了彌賽亞。」——「彌賽亞」翻譯出來就是「基督」。

並且你們也要做見證，因為你們從一開始就與我在一起。

藉著我看為忠心的弟兄賽拉斯，我簡要地寫了這封信，勸勉你們，並且證明這是神真實的恩典。你們要在這恩典中站立得住。

耶穌還吩咐我們要向民眾傳道，鄭重地見證他就是神所設定的那一位，活人和死人的審判者。

猶太人圍住了他，說：「你還讓我們猜疑多久呢？如果你是基督，就明確地告訴我們吧！」

因此你當知道，你要明白：從發出命令恢復、重建耶路撒冷，直到受膏之君的時候，有七個『七』和六十二個『七』；那時耶路撒冷連同她的廣場和溝渠都必被恢復、重建，但那將是一個困苦的時期。那六十二個『七』之後，受膏者必被剪除，他將一無所有。將要來一位領袖，他的民眾必毀滅這城和聖所，其結局必伴隨著洪流，必有戰爭直到末了；荒涼的事已經被註定了。

不過我有該受的洗禮，在完成之前，我是多麼困苦！

要知道，我們所看見所聽見的，我們不能不說。」

保羅到達代爾貝城，又到了路司得城。當時，那裡有一個名叫提摩太的門徒，是一個信主的猶太婦人的兒子，他父親是希臘人。
