我正处在两难之间：我渴望离世与基督在一起，因为这是好得无比的；

于是弟兄们立刻送保罗往海边去，赛拉斯和提摩太仍然留在庇里亚。护送保罗的人一直带他到了雅典，然后领受了要赛拉斯和提摩太尽快到他这里来的指示，就回去了。保罗在雅典等候赛拉斯和提摩太的时候，看见满城都是偶像，他灵里被激怒。

你们自己可以为我见证：我曾经说过‘我不是基督，而是奉差派在他前面的。’

夜里，保罗看见了一个异象：一个马其顿人站着恳求他，说：“请你过来，到马其顿来帮助我们。”

当时，使徒们、长老们和全教会都认为应该从他们当中拣选几个人，派他们与保罗和巴拿巴一起到安提阿去。被选的是那称为巴撒巴的犹大和赛拉斯，这两个人在弟兄中是领头的。

并派了我们的弟兄——在基督的福音工作上的神的同工提摩太，好在信仰上坚固你们、鼓励你们，

安得烈先去找自己的哥哥西门，对他说：“我们找到了弥赛亚。”——“弥赛亚”翻译出来就是“基督”。

并且你们也要做见证，因为你们从一开始就与我在一起。

藉着我看为忠心的弟兄赛拉斯，我简要地写了这封信，劝勉你们，并且证明这是神真实的恩典。你们要在这恩典中站立得住。

耶稣还吩咐我们要向民众传道，郑重地见证他就是神所设定的那一位，活人和死人的审判者。

犹太人围住了他，说：“你还让我们猜疑多久呢？如果你是基督，就明确地告诉我们吧！”

因此你当知道，你要明白：从发出命令恢复、重建耶路撒冷，直到受膏之君的时候，有七个‘七’和六十二个‘七’；那时耶路撒冷连同她的广场和沟渠都必被恢复、重建，但那将是一个困苦的时期。那六十二个‘七’之后，受膏者必被剪除，他将一无所有。将要来一位领袖，他的民众必毁灭这城和圣所，其结局必伴随着洪流，必有战争直到末了；荒凉的事已经被注定了。

不过我有该受的洗礼，在完成之前，我是多么困苦！

要知道，我们所看见所听见的，我们不能不说。”

保罗到达代尔贝城，又到了路司得城。当时，那里有一个名叫提摩太的门徒，是一个信主的犹太妇人的儿子，他父亲是希腊人。
