但掃羅越發有能力，引經據典證明耶穌是基督，使大馬士革的猶太人驚慌失措。

因為我心裡積滿了話，我裡面的靈催促我說出來。我裡面像盛滿了酒，卻沒有出口，又如將要破裂的新酒袋。我要一吐為快，我要開口答覆。

有時我打算不再提起耶和華，不再奉祂的名宣講，但祂的話如一團火在我心中燃燒，憋在我骨頭裡，我無法忍住不說。

「所以，全體以色列人啊！你們應當確實地知道，上帝已經立這位被你們釘在十字架上的耶穌為主，為基督了。」

我處在兩難之間。我情願離開世界，與基督在一起，那實在是再好不過了。

庇哩亞的弟兄姊妹立刻送保羅到海邊，西拉和提摩太仍然留在庇哩亞。護送保羅的人一直把他送到雅典，然後帶著保羅的口信回庇哩亞，交代西拉和提摩太儘快趕去雅典與保羅會合。保羅在雅典等候他們的時候，看見滿城都是偶像，心裡非常著急。

你們自己可以為我做見證，我說過我不是基督，我只是奉差在祂前面預備道路的。

當天晚上，保羅在異象中看見一個馬其頓人站在那裡懇求他：「請到馬其頓來幫助我們！」

最後，使徒、長老和全教會都決定從他們當中選派代表，隨保羅和巴拿巴去安提阿。他們選了別號巴撒巴的猶大和西拉，這兩位都是教會的領袖。

派提摩太去你們那裡。他在傳揚基督福音的事工上是我們的弟兄、上帝的同工。他去是要鼓勵你們，使你們信心堅定，

他首先去找他哥哥西門，說：「我們找到彌賽亞了！」彌賽亞的意思是基督。

你們也要為我做見證，因為你們從開始就與我在一起。

在忠心的弟兄西拉的幫助下，我簡單地寫了這封信勸勉你們，並證明這是上帝真實的恩典。你們務要在這恩典上站穩。

祂命令我們向世人傳道，見證祂就是上帝指派來審判活人和死人的那位。

一群猶太人圍著祂說：「你讓我們困惑、猜疑要到什麼時候呢？如果你是救主基督，就清楚地告訴我們吧！」

你要知道，也要明白，從重建耶路撒冷的命令發出，到受膏的君王來臨，其間有七個七加六十二個七。耶路撒冷城及其廣場和壕溝必得重建，且是在艱難時期。六十二個七之後，受膏者必被殺害，一無所有。另有一王要興起，他的臣民要毀滅這城和聖所。結局必如洪水沖來，戰爭將持續到末了，到處一片荒涼——這已經註定。

我有要受的『洗禮』，我何等迫切地想完成這『洗禮』啊！

至於我，因有耶和華的靈，我充滿權能、正義和力量，能向雅各宣告他的過犯，向以色列宣告他的罪惡。

我們耳聞目睹的，不能不說！」

保羅來到特庇，然後又到路司得。那裡有個門徒名叫提摩太，母親是信主的猶太人，父親是希臘人。
