不過我要仍舊住在以弗所，直到五旬節，

有一個生在亞歷山大的猶太人，名叫亞波羅，來到以弗所，他很有口才，很會講解聖經。

願主使他在那日能蒙主的憐憫。他在以弗所怎樣多服事我，你是清楚知道的。

亞波羅在哥林多的時候，保羅經過了內陸地區，來到以弗所，在那裏他遇見幾個門徒，

因為保羅早已決定要越過以弗所，免得在亞細亞躭延，他急忙前行，假如可能的話，在五旬節前能趕到耶路撒冷。

奉神旨意作基督耶穌使徒的保羅，寫信給在以弗所的眾聖徒，就是在基督耶穌裏忠心的人。

每逢安息日，保羅在會堂裏辯論，勸導猶太人和希臘人。

我往馬其頓去的時候，曾勸你留在以弗所，好囑咐某些人不可傳別的教義，

說：「把你所看見的寫在書上，寄給以弗所、士每拿、別迦摩、推雅推喇、撒狄、非拉鐵非、老底嘉那七個教會。」

「你要寫信給以弗所教會的使者，說：『那右手拿着七顆星，在七個金燈臺中間行走的這樣說：

從人的觀點看來，我當日在以弗所同野獸搏鬥，對我有甚麼益處呢？如果死人沒有復活，「讓我們吃吃喝喝吧！因為明天要死了。」

凡住在以弗所的，無論是猶太人是希臘人，都知道這件事，也都懼怕；主耶穌的名從此就更被尊為大了。

我已經打發推基古往以弗所去。

你們看到，也聽見這保羅不但在以弗所，也幾乎在亞細亞全地，引誘迷惑了許多人，說：『人手所做的不是神明。』

保羅照他素常的規矩進去，一連三個安息日，根據聖經與他們辯論，講解和說明基督必須受害，從死人中復活；又說：「我所傳給你們的這位耶穌就是基督。」

就辭別他們，說：「神若許可，我還要回到你們這裏來。」於是他上船離開以弗所。
