亞波羅在哥林多的時候，保羅走遍了內地上邊的區域，就來到以弗所，遇見幾個門徒；

因為保羅已經決定要駛過以弗所，免得在亞西亞躭延時日；他急忙往前走，巴不得趕五旬節日能夠到耶路撒冷。

奉上帝旨意做基督耶穌使徒的保羅、寫信給在以弗所的聖徒，在基督耶穌裏忠信的人。

每逢安息日、保羅總在會堂裏辯論，勸化了猶太人和希利尼人。

我往馬其頓去的時候，曾勸你繼續住在以弗所；好囑咐某某人不要傳別樣的教義，

說着話說：『你所看見的要寫在書上，寄給以弗所、士每拿、別迦摩、推雅推喇、撒狄、非拉鐵非、老底嘉、那七個教會。』

『你要寫信給在以弗所的教會的使者說：『「那把七顆星握住在右手中、在七個金燈臺中間走來走去的、這麼說

若按人的說法，我當日在以弗所跟野獸格鬥，那於我又有甚麼益處呢？死人如果不能得甦活起來，那『我們喫喫喝喝吧，因為明天就死了！』

這件事、凡住以弗所的，無論是猶太人、是希利尼人、都知道；他們都起了敬畏的心，主耶穌的名就被尊為大。

我已經打發推基古往以弗所。

你們看，你們聽，不但在以弗所、也幾乎在全亞西亞、這個保羅都唆誘了帶壞了好大羣的人，說：「那些用人手作的並不是神。」

保羅照他素常所行的進去，一連三個安息日，根據經典和他們辯論，開講陳明上帝所膏立者必須受害，從死人中復起。又說：『我向你們傳揚的這位耶穌，就是上帝所膏立者。』

卻辭別他們說：『上帝若准許，我還要回到你們這裏來的』。於是開船離了以弗所，
