阿波罗在哥林多的时候，保罗经过内陆地区，来到以弗所城，在那里他遇见一些门徒，

原来保罗已经决定驶过以弗所城，免得在亚细亚省耽延时间，因为他急着赶路，如果有可能，但愿五旬节那一天已经在耶路撒冷了。

照着神的旨意做基督耶稣使徒的保罗，致住在以弗所的圣徒，就是在基督耶稣里的信徒们：

每逢安息日，保罗就在会堂里讲论，劝导犹太人和希腊人。

我往马其顿省去的时候，曾经劝你继续留在以弗所，好让你吩咐某些人不可传讲别的教义，

说：“把你所看见的写在书卷上，送到那七个教会：以弗所、士每拿、佩尔伽马、锡亚蒂拉、萨迪斯、费拉德菲亚和劳迪西亚。”

“你要给那在以弗所教会的使者写信说：“那位右手握着七颗星、在七座金灯台中间行走的，这样说：

我在以弗所与野兽搏斗，如果按人的意思来说，对我有什么好处呢？如果死人不会复活，就“让我们吃吃喝喝吧，因为明天我们就要死了。”

所有住在以弗所的犹太人和希腊人，都知道了这件事，恐惧就临到了他们每个人，主耶稣的名因此被尊为大。

我派特其库斯到以弗所去了。

可是你们看见了也听见了，这个保罗不仅在以弗所也几乎在全亚细亚省，说服、引诱了一大群人，说‘人手所造的不是神’。

保罗照习惯进了会堂，一连三个安息日，引用经文向他们讲论，讲解并说明基督必须受难，然后从死人中复活，并且说：“我传给你们的这位耶稣，就是基督。”

向他们告别，说：“如果神愿意，我会再回到你们这里来。”就从以弗所起航了。
