不過我要在以弗所住到五旬節，

有一個生在亞歷山太的猶太人，名叫亞波羅，來到了以弗所。他很有口才，擅長講解聖經。

（願主在那日使他從主那裡得著憐憫。）你也清楚知道他在以弗所是怎樣多方服事我。

亞波羅在哥林多的時候，保羅經過內地一帶，來到以弗所。他遇見幾個門徒，

原來保羅決定越過以弗所，免得在亞西亞耽擱時間，因為他希望能在五旬節趕到耶路撒冷。

奉神旨意作基督耶穌使徒的保羅，寫信給住在以弗所，在基督耶穌裡忠心的聖徒。

每逢安息日，保羅在會堂辯論，勸導猶太人和希臘人歸主。

我往馬其頓去的時候，曾經勸你留在以弗所，為要囑咐某些人，不可傳別的教義，

說：“你所看見的，要寫在書上，也要寄給以弗所、士每拿、別迦摩、推雅推拉、撒狄、非拉鐵非、老底嘉七個教會。”

“你要寫信給在以弗所教會的使者，說：‘那右手拿著七星，在七個金燈臺中間行走的，這樣說：

我在以弗所和野獸搏鬥，如果照著人的意思來看，那對我有甚麼益處呢？如果死人不會復活，“我們就吃吃喝喝吧，因為我們明天就要死了。”

所有住在以弗所的猶太人和希臘人，都知道這件事；大家都懼怕，尊主耶穌的名為大。

我差派了推基古到以弗所去。

現在你們看見了，也聽見了，這個保羅不單在以弗所，而且幾乎在整個亞西亞，說服了，也帶壞了許多人，說：‘人手所做的，都不是神。’

保羅照他的習慣進去，一連三個安息日，根據聖經與他們辯論，講解證明基督必須受害，從死人中復活，說：“我所傳給你們的這位耶穌，就是基督。”

卻辭別他們說：“神若許可，我還要回到你們這裡來。”於是從以弗所開船去了。
