不过我要在以弗所住到五旬节，

有一个生在亚历山太的犹太人，名叫亚波罗，来到了以弗所。他很有口才，擅长讲解圣经。

（愿主在那日使他从主那里得着怜悯。）你也清楚知道他在以弗所是怎样多方服事我。

亚波罗在哥林多的时候，保罗经过内地一带，来到以弗所。他遇见几个门徒，

原来保罗决定越过以弗所，免得在亚西亚耽搁时间，因为他希望能在五旬节赶到耶路撒冷。

奉神旨意作基督耶稣使徒的保罗，写信给住在以弗所，在基督耶稣里忠心的圣徒。

每逢安息日，保罗在会堂辩论，劝导犹太人和希腊人归主。

我往马其顿去的时候，曾经劝你留在以弗所，为要嘱咐某些人，不可传别的教义，

说：“你所看见的，要写在书上，也要寄给以弗所、士每拿、别迦摩、推雅推拉、撒狄、非拉铁非、老底嘉七个教会。”

“你要写信给在以弗所教会的使者，说：‘那右手拿着七星，在七个金灯台中间行走的，这样说：

我在以弗所和野兽搏斗，如果照着人的意思来看，那对我有什么益处呢？如果死人不会复活，“我们就吃吃喝喝吧，因为我们明天就要死了。”

所有住在以弗所的犹太人和希腊人，都知道这件事；大家都惧怕，尊主耶稣的名为大。

我差派了推基古到以弗所去。

现在你们看见了，也听见了，这个保罗不单在以弗所，而且几乎在整个亚西亚，说服了，也带坏了许多人，说：‘人手所做的，都不是神。’

保罗照他的习惯进去，一连三个安息日，根据圣经与他们辩论，讲解证明基督必须受害，从死人中复活，说：“我所传给你们的这位耶稣，就是基督。”

却辞别他们说：“神若许可，我还要回到你们这里来。”于是从以弗所开船去了。
