保羅急於趕回耶路撒冷，希望在五旬節前趕到，所以決定不去以弗所，免得在亞細亞境內耽誤太久。

我是奉上帝旨意作基督耶穌使徒的保羅，寫信給以弗所忠於基督耶穌的眾聖徒。

保羅每個安息日都到會堂與猶太人和希臘人辯論，勸導他們信主。

我去馬其頓的時候，曾經勸你繼續留在以弗所，好命令那幾個人不要傳講異端邪說，

「把你所看見的寫在書上，然後送給以弗所、士每拿、別迦摩、推雅推喇、撒狄、非拉鐵非和老底嘉七間教會。」

「你要寫信告訴以弗所教會的天使，那位右手拿著七顆星、往來於七個金燈臺中间的主說，

從人的角度看，我在以弗所與那些「惡獸」格鬥對我有什麼益處呢？如果死人不會復活，「讓我們吃喝吧！因為明天我們就死了。」

全以弗所的猶太人和希臘人知道了這件事，都驚懼不已。主耶穌的名因此大受尊崇。

至於推基古，我派他到以弗所去了。

可是你們都看到了，也聽見了，那個保羅在以弗所和亞細亞全境說服、誤導了許多人，說什麼人手所造的不是神。

保羅照以往的習慣進入會堂，一連三個安息日引用聖經與當地人討論，解釋、證明基督必須受害，然後從死裡復活，又說：「我向你們宣講的這位耶穌就是基督。」

他向眾人道別，說：「如果上帝許可，我會回來。」然後上船離開了以弗所。
